Hello. It's good you have found your way to Beyond Blue. Welcome to the forum. There are several threads relating to OCD on the Anxiety forum which may be helpful for you to read. Perhaps you can join in the conversations. You can also start your own thread on Anxiety if you have something particular you want to discuss. This would be better than continuing on the Orientation thread which is mainly for introductions. Trying to have a conversation on this thread is difficult as posts and replies get lost in all the other posts.
If you click on The Facts at the top of the page, then Anxiety/Types of Anxiety, this will take you to information about OCD. I hope this is useful.
You can also explore the posts under Staying Well and Treatments which is where others discuss coping strategies. Joining in conversations is useful and helpful for everyone as you realise you are not alone and can learn from others.

dear Purple Dog, hello and welcome to the forum.
Firstly I would like to tell you as most people know that I have had OCD for 55 years, so I hope that my age won't frighten you.
Mary has offered you with some great information, but can you just open up a little bit more, about your OCD and what specific habits/rituals you are struggling to cope with.
Please don't worry because no one knows you, but when people post in about OCD I'm always replying, because it really interests me on what people have to cope with when they have OCD. Geoff.
