I'm completing a Certificate course - I'm needing to log onto Beyond Blue to gain as much details as I can to help those with depression. I really like this site and believe it will help me with my course...

Hi Karen!

What a great place to come to - you're so welcome here.

Can I ask what your course is in?

Hi and welcome Karen to our caring community!

Firstly, I'm concerned your tag name is real? It's best to use a pseudonym so if you want to contact moderators using the 'Email us' button under the search function at the top of the page to request a change, I think they'll agree without question. It also might be a good idea to inform moderators of your plans to use BB as a means of addressing assignment criteria.

Re your study, my recommendation is for you to read...and read...and read. Ok? You haven't stated if you've suffered anxiety/panic/depression, so if you're only here to gain credit standing, it might be better if you do some research (reading) on here instead of posting.

Get to know the resource list/links and maybe take notes about your own feelings and emotions while reading. You can't beat that for direct anecdotal evidence yeah?

There's masses of info on the site, so have a good look around on the home page for links and statistics as well!

Please remember...'Details about anyone or specific experiences on beyondblue should ever be used as case studies. This is a safe place for members to write in privacy and this is to be respected on every level.'

BB prides itself on the amazing reputation it has for member's safety and well being. We wouldn't want anyone getting hold of sensitive information about themselves and then it causing them harm.

Best of luck with it all...

Sara

Hello Karen - I am doing the Certificate 4 in Mental Health at the moment. If you would like to be more specific about what you're looking for perhaps I can help you.

As Sara indicated, this is a forum first and foremost for peer support. Let us know a bit more about you and your interest here and please do respect that people here share stories to help themselves and others on the site, not to become case studies.

Hope we can help you.

Hi Karen, welcome to the forums.

As Just Sara and Kazzl have explained above, this forum is a peer support space for people with personal experience of mental health conditions, or those who are supporting a family member, friend, partner, or loved one.

There's much to be learned from reading through the threads here, but in terms of contributing to the conversations please remember that our members are real people in real situations. We support each other here by sharing our own personal experiences, as this is not a counselling or professional support/development space.

As with any material on this site, you'll need to approach us privately with a formal request if you're wishing to utilise any content from the forums.
