Bookmarking threads

Hi,

I think it would be useful to be able to bookmark the threads that you may have a response to but want to think about it a bit more. Especially as it is not possible to delete a post yourself.

I do not know if this has been mentioned before.

thanks,

Chris

Dear Chris,

There's only 20/30 new responses to thread a day at the moment.    Guess if the title is hard to remember write it down.    If I'm tired I'll jot down a couple of things about a really long thread just to pull together a response.

I sometimes respond at length but, having slept on the threads (as it were) I pop in a 2nd response the next day.  Double dipping.  This behaviour is uncommon on the site and maybe edit would help me clean up my sporadic act.

I'm not sure if bookmarking would work within 24 hrs as any response normally sees the thread go into the updating circuit and leave MY POSTS.

Often, I use geoff's responses as a bookmark - if I'm short on time I'll avoid the threads he's responded to.   If I want to be more global I check out his input.  Something about the regularity of seeing geoff's responses over the years is very comforting.  And seeing that his new dog Moo Moo hasn't eaten the chair yet.  Lol.

Adios, David.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for this suggestion.

Others may like to correct me if I'm wrong, but you should be able to bookmark a thread using the traditional 'bookmark' or 'favourite' option your particular internet browser offers. I Use Google CHrome and if I wanted to bookmark this thread I'd simply press the star up in the top right corner. If I wanted to come back to this thread at a later time I'd log in and go to my list of bookmarks and I should be taken straight here.

Regards,

Hugh

Who has the oranges ?  There is still the rest of the year to play for.

Adios, David.

PS  Based on a suggestion by Dr Brian Ironwood.  I have not included pets that demand attention as soon as a responder sits down and logs on the BB site.

dear David Charles, my friend, how right you are with your Post Scriptum. Geoff.

I still can't find my threads

Hello again Jaynie. I responded to you on the other thread you posted to a couple of nights ago. It appears that you never received my response. I'm sorry to hear that.

If you are on the Home Page of the Beyondblue website, select the Red Box at the bottom which says "Join Discussion". Upon selecting that, you will be taken to another page which has (among other things) three pale blue or grey tabs at the top which read "All Posts" "New Posts" and "My Threads". Select the My Threads tab and it will provide a list of all threads which you have ever posted to. I note that your post count is currently 2, so your My Threads list will include this thread "Bookmarking threads" as well as the one you posted to the other night which was "Surviving: Being in a Better Place".

Please post again if this does not help. As this is a new post it will appear on the front page of the website. The most recent 6 discussions are all listed there. So if either of the above threads are visible on the front page, just you can click on the 'read thread' option. But please try to find "My Threads", as its important to enable you to catch up with any replies to your posts.

I'm sorry you're having difficulties finding your way around. Certainly you are not alone in that, as it can be quite confusing at first. Please persevere though, we are all waiting to hear more from and about you.

Kindest

Mandy

Hi Jaynie57, welcome to the forums.  Thanks to Mandy8 for providing that advice to answer your question - we'd recommend reading through the Forum FAQ (pink button at the top of every page), where this question and many others about how the forums work are answered.
