Beyond Blue for everyone.

My husband thinks that Beyond Blue is only about men's mental health. A simple search of this site has proved him wrong. Why do you think he had this misconception?

There have been some advertisements on the telly. That link mens health issues to beyond blue. Some people may extrapolate from this that it's for men only. Plus until recently we had Jeff Kennet as the CEO. from that assumption ergo it must be for blokes.

Fortunately no all of us think this way.

Hi Lizzie60,

Firstly, welcome to the forums.

It most certainly is for everyone, I think it can come across for men as it is advertised a lot to get men to talk about their mental health. I am not sure of the statistics of suicide between men and women but that may have something to do with it. I do know numerous times when I have used public toilets, they have advertising for beyond blue in them so that may attribute to being misconstrued as a men's only site. This site helps anyone, from any walk of life.

My best for you,

Jay

hi Lizzie, quite the different, it includes everyone starting from adolescence right up to old people like me, being 62 and even older, both male and females, he might be getting confused with 'Mens Shed'.
Is he interested in reading some of the replies in any section of this site that may concern. Geoff.
