Hi, I have just turned 49 and have bipolar depression since 25. I feel sometimes my family doesn't understand, so I appreciate mutual (give and take) through this forum.

Hi Issi - a big welcome to you! I understand how hard that is when our loved ones don't 'get' us. I have bipolar as well, and I know it's a hard thing for non-bipolar people to understand.

There is so much relief and satisfaction in talking to others with bipolar. I'm fortunate to have a number of fellow-travellers in my life, and we understand each other in a way others can't.

Issi I have a thread on the forum (under Long-term Journeys) called This Bipolar Life. There are a number of lovely bipolar folks on there and we've become a very supportive and fun little gaggle of friends. I'd love you to join us - you'd be very very welcome. If you would like to, just pop in and say hi. We share our experiences and daily goings on, we support each other, share tips and tricks for living with bipolar, and enjoy some general silliness to keep our spirits up. Most importantly, we 'get' each other.

Hope to see you soon

Hi Issi,

I suffer from deep depression that they are trying to treat with medication. I spend pretty much everyday alone. When I do get visitors I count the minutes till they leave. My family do not understand what is going on in my head & I am pretty sure that Drs dont understand.

I am very isolated where I am & because I dont drive life is always throwing obstacles at me. I joined this group to find people like me who maybe can understand what I am going through. Maybe knowing that I am not the only one, will put my mind at ease in some way

Kind regards

Frosty

Hi frosty

You would be better assisted by creating your own thread. Many more people will read it and reply.
