hello my name is Kellie and i don't even know where to begin to explain how im feeling....but i will give it a go...i've been feeling awfully depressed the last few weeks and just worked up the courage to tell my husband who says he has my back, the old saying is that actions speak louder then words, im sitting in my lounge room in the dark alone where i spend most nights crying over nothing for hours (yes hubby knows im here ) i try my hardest everyday to do things to help myself as i don't have any friends to turn to and i feel i can't tell hubby because i don't feel he cares enough even though i sent him links with info and videos to watch to help him understand, i keep hearing in my head that im best off dealing with it on my own because no one cares....anyway i have rambled enough. any advice on this will be greatly appreciated

Hi Kelz, welcome

He wont understand. 80% of people cannot relate to an injury that is invisible. And what can they do?. Men, a lot of them, arent open with their feelings, yet they would prove their love in a heart beat if an intruder entered the home.

As some reading google this

You have no friends. I dont mean to be harsh but thats your role, to join light sports like badminton, table tennis and get hobbies that allow you to meet others.

So, below are some threads that will help you take some steps to help. I should mention that a visit to your GP is essential on the path to a proper diagnosis. We also tend to lean on our loved ones beyond their capabilities.

hello Kellie, it's a very dark place where you are in now, we know because we're been there many times, and if your husband understand what depression is then he would have suggested you go and see your doctor to start off with, especially after watching the videos, maybe he has, but to be by yourself in a dark loungeroom is a lonely miserable place to be.
Tony has supplied you with some great links which would be worth looking at, but now we have to try and get you out of this dark place so that you can talk with someone who knows what they are trained to do, a psychologist.
This may seem to be very frightening for you, but before your doctor organises this, I would suggest that you try and write down on a piece of paper everything that is causing you to feel this way, because sometimes people just freeze up when the psych asks you 'how can I help you', instead just hand them the document, this will break the ice.
Can I also suggest doing the K-10 test (just google it )which is a test to give you a score of your depression, but do this test several times, not at once, but different times of the day, then take all of these to your doctor and then to a psychologist that you are referred to by your doctor.
There is the BB phone number you can ring, but you may feel a bit awkward when your husband is around, but never mind if you desperately need to talk to someone then please do so.
I hope that can trust us because you have our support. Geoff.
