Biofeedback opinions?

My psych has suggested I try biofeedback. Just wanting to know if anyone has tried it and how they found it? Does anyone know if this is a long term or short term treatment? It's very expensive.

I'm not familiar with it myself, except with what I've looked up online. Are you able to to get some help from Medicare? I know with a referral plan from a GP you can get a rebate which applies for some aspects of psych treatment.
