Hi all,

First time poster, however I've had 3 instances of major depressive disorder since 2011.

I think I need to call an ambulance as I'm concerned about damage I caused from an attempt some weeks ago.

I am trying to find the courage to work my way out of this.

Regards,

B.

Dear Skipster18,

Thank you for finding the strength and courage to post in our forum. We are a very helpful and supportive community. Many of our members have been through similar experiences and truly want to help.

We understand that you have struggled with depressive episodes for several years. Are you under the care of a GP?

Are you under the care of a Mental Health team?

If we may ask, and you don't need to answer if you don't want to, what concerns do you have around ringing for an ambulance?

For immediate support, you can call BeyondBlue on 1300 22 4636, or Lifeline on 13 1114.

Please try to remember that we are always here for you.

Warm regards,

Sophie M.

Hi Skipster,

I'm sorry to hear about your recent struggles with major depressive disorder. Finding courage and strength to work your way out is difficult. You have taken a huge step in coming to this website and coming to the forums. Obviously there is a lot of info on the site about depression (which you can find under 'the facts') as well as peoples experiences.

However, if you have any immediate issues, you might like to call one of the crisis lines that Sophie mentioned. If possible, it could also be worth seeing your GP to discuss what you're currently going through. They can obviously guide you more but also work on a mental health care plan which involves referral to a mental health clinician. If you don't have a regular GP or are looking for any specific clinicians there are directories on the 'Find a professional' tab under 'Get Support'.

Feel free to post any updates. 🙂
