My girlfriend is 24 weeks pregnant and, well, this is the cause of my depression. She did some things to fall pregnant while knowing I was 100% against it. I love her a lot but this just killed me. I need more help than a simple chat, hesitant to call life line as I'm pretty sure I know how the conversation will go. Are they able to get me in somewhere to talk in person to a professional in my area? How do I get help if everyone is booked out?

Thank you for making the brave decision to reach out and share your feelings and experiences with our warm community. We are so sorry to hear that you've been feeling so low, and have been considering suicide for the past 3 weeks. It sounds like these feelings must be so tough to cope with, but please know that you're not alone in this, and our caring community are here to help offer support and advice to help you through this difficult time.
We are also currently reaching out to you privately through email as we are worried for your wellbeing.
We understand how much strength it takes to reach out for support, and can hear how disheartening it would have been to call 6 different places, only for all of them to be booked. But please know that there is always somewhere to turn to during dark times like these, and we'd really urge you to reach out to our friends at Lifeline on (13 11 14) and the Suicide Call Back Service (1300 659 467) who are available to you anytime, day or night, whenever things are feeling like too much to cope with.
If there is any time you feel like you are at immediate risk of hurting yourself, this is an emergency and you should contact 000 (triple zero), or you can also go to the hospital yourself if you feel like you are able to stay safe to make the journey. In situations like these, a medical professional will speak with you about what is going on and how you are feeling to make an assessment about what the next best steps to do might be, and the levels of risk to your safety. You can also consider ringing up your local crisis assessment and treatment team for advice.
We're all here to help you through this, and we hope you continue to check in and let us know how you're going, whenever you feel ready.

hi and welcome.
It must be devastating to try all those places and not get any help. And now that you are having thoughts of suicide would be extra tough on you. Apart from your GF is there anyone else that you can talk to about what you are feeling? Could be parents, family, friends? Someone that you would trust and be able to talk to.
As for things you can do...
- could you talk to you GP about your thoughts and feelings .When my thoughts became suicidal I went to my GP and was then referred a psychiatrist and put onto ADs.
- you could also tell your GP about the problems you have had and whether there are others you could be referred to.
- do you have a safely plan? If not, a good suggestion would be to have a look at the beyond blue safety plan app - https://www.beyondblue.org.au/get-support/beyondnow-suicide-safety-planning
- the suicide callback service also has a website here - https://www.suicidecallbackservice.org.au/ where you can chat with staff online.
One thing I would say is that while I "could" talk with my GP, I had problems talking with my psychologist and do not think I could write here about it. So for you to be able to write here takes courage, bravery and strength. Over time it became easier and these are words people said to me so that also apply to you as well for being so honest in your post here.
You will also be supported by the people here in your journey. Please keep and touch and let us know what you are feeling or thinking. My own story tells me it is difficult to keep your story inside and hope you will return.
