I have had many bad experience in my life and I thought I would never harm myself but when I got this low I felt there was nowhere to go. In hospital for mental health and live alone and worried it might happen again how do people cope

Hi, welcome
You are right, self harm is a clear indication of being highly desperate.
How do we avoid this situation? Well it’s very important to make changes in your life to minimalism the chances. Sometimes it includes the bare basics, other times more radical ideas.-
- Regular GP/psych/therapy sessions
- compatible effective medication at the goal dosages
- if in employment 2x part time jobs better than full time as you spend shorter periods with at times a toxic environment
- include hobbies and sports even supporting a footy team
- spiritual harmony
- relaxation techniques like muscle tensioning exercises
- Google- youtube Prem Rawat Maharaji sunset. And many more of his videos
- protect yourself from toxic people- google- beyondblue fortress of survival (also part 2 and workplace versions)
- good healthy diet and some exercise
- if you haven’t got a pet consider one
- remain on the forum as a support mechanism
I hope that helps
