It feels like every time i think it gets better it only gets worse, I cant seem to help myself and I don’t want to worry or disappoint my family or friends by getting a counsellor/therapist or anything like that

Hi arka

I feel for you so much as you face such a deeply challenging time in your life.

Over the years I've learned that when feeling completely and utterly lost, there's not choice but to find a guide. 'Who's the best guide for me, at this time in my life and under these circumstances?' becomes the ultimate question.

As a 56yo gal, I've had plenty of guides in my life up to this point. I've met with ones for mental health, ones that help manage a greater sense of physical wellbeing and I've even had some really soulful guides. I've had guides in the form of family/friends, professional ones in their field of expertise, ones on the forums here,  some who may be deemed as being a little outside the square, some brilliant ones on YouTube and the list goes on. There have been those who have helped with everyday kinds of challenges we can face in life and those who have made a big difference when I've faced the kinds of challenges that are just so overwhelming or depressing.

Great guides are not only great leaders, they're the kinds of people who can help shed light on why we're suffering or struggling so much and what can be the best way forward for us. If you can imagine life as a landscape that we navigate through, if anyone was to say to me 'You don't need a guide', my response would be 'Why would I not seek one out, while feeling completely and utterly lost and alone in the dark, with absolutely zero sense of direction? Wouldn't it make more sense to find one, rather than not find one?'. One of the key things I've learned in life is...I can find a guide to 'fast track' me through and out of where I am (in that part of my landscape) or I can spend so much time trying to work things out on my own. Some things can take weeks, months or even years to work out. I figure there's no point wasting time without a guide.

arka, do you know what kind of guide you're looking for? Perhaps a guidance counselor for a start, someone who may be able to gain a sense of where you need to head next? One guide can lead us to another, who is more a specialist guide in the area that's going to make the biggest difference to us.
