I’ve decided I’m going to talk to my pysch about this. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to do this if they’ve done it before?

How do you disclose a past suicide attempt to a psychologist?
I’ve told them about how I feel but I’ve been scared to open up more

Thank you for your post to the forum yesterday. It sounds like things are so tough right now and that would be so much to deal with on your own. It’s clear you’ve been incredibly proactive in seeking support, and we truly appreciate how challenging it must be to open up to your GP about what you’re going through. You’ve shown such courage in reaching out, especially when doing so for the first time can feel so daunting. We want you to know that we’re here for you. We would like you to contact our counsellors on 1300 22 4636 or speak to them on webchat here. https://www.beyondblue.org.au/get-support/talk-to-a-counsellor/chat
Our counsellors are really understanding, and they can help you create a plan to navigate through this difficult phase.
Hopefully we’ll hear from some of our lovely, understanding community members at some point today once they spot your thread. In the meantime, please feel free to share a bit more about how you’re feeling.
Kind regards,
Sophie M

I’m scared to tell someone like a professional what happened. I am also a bit nervous because I could have told my psychologist months ago but I didn’t feel comfortable then to do so.
