Great thread Paul

My grandparents owned a blackwood dining table. 10ft long. Xmas lunch was great as we filled the chairs. They lived in Tasmania

1. Miss the Scaletrix racing car set

2. My first dog "tubby"

3. Milking cows and carting hay in Tassy on holidays in the 1960' s.

Tony WK

Hey Tony WK. We must be brothers!....I really miss my Scaletrix track and the smell of the cars ...oh memories..First dog 'Tubby'...that is so cool. You were in Tassy in the '60's too?..Oh my...I was in Maydena when dad was involved on the hydro electric scheme...I am that tired of walking around this circa 1920 dining table and matching buffet I might flog it. Bless your kind heart Tony. Paul

dear Paul, it's these memories which we all so longed for and deeply miss.
For me:
- the love and devotion my wife and I had back in the early days
- my love for my 2 sons and the good times we had together, now includes my 2 little g/daughters
- being Captain of Victoria in rugby for the under 21's, known as the Colts
-the good times when my brother in laws and sister in laws had before 1 brother in law destroyed it all by not paying back a massive loan we gave him
- the time when my twin and I had great times
- having a good trade in my self employment
- the work that I could achieve
- the years when depression and anxiety didn't exist
- love of sport I was involved in playing
- my love for Tessie and Moo-Moo
- when I got my pc
- life before my head injury

and so life goes on. Geoff.

So much left in the wake as we move on...The older we get, the longer the list. Thanks Paul for providing this nostalgic but useful corner as it helps reconnect with important aspects of our lives. Here goes :

  • The tropics...5 consecutive days without a glimpse of sunshine (and worsening) don't help.
  • The deep connection I once shared with departed friends.
  • All the memorable dogs I connected with only to send them on their way to new homes.
  • The adrenaline rush of being the "monkey" on my cousin's racing sidecar.
  • My horses.
  • The smells and sounds of an Asian market.

and heaps more...tells my age !

I miss a lot, but I'll list the main ones.

My mum. She passed in 2007, and was my only support system

Although my childhood wasn't great, I miss not having to worry about how you'd pay the bills

Having friends. I just can't seem to keep them. They come and go like the weather changes, and it always hurts

Smiling. When I was a kid people would say that I was always smiling. I don't know where that happiness went. Now there isn't much to smile about, or at least I don't know where it went
