Hey to anyone reading this.
Last night I had an idea about starting a new thread about exercise especially walking. I am aware that walking is very beneficial for our mental, emotional and physical well being. And by actually doing it....well it can make a huge difference to how we cope with the storms that we face in life.
OK, I am not real good at disciplining myself to walk, and have to really push myself to do it. And sometimes it is even hard to leave this bedroom. Anyway I am not a beginner walker, as I have stuck to sort of a plan before. So I know that it does make me feel somewhat better. But I only stayed on the plan for a couple of months, then gave up.....for whatever reason. So here I am again wanting desperately to not fail this time.
So I guess this thread is for anyone that does walk, anyone that is struggling to walk because of depression or anxiety issues. And anyone else really......
I am unsure of the outcome of all this. But my ideas included: Sharing about things we have found out about exercise especially about walking. Writing down the reasons that one would chose to walk ( like something to help motivate). Being accountable in same way. Sharing about the places where we actually do walk, like the beach, gym, around the block, with the dog, out to the clothesline and back. And any other useful tips that could help others. So here we go......

Went for a walk to the local IGA up at mums. I am guessing about a 20 minute walk all up. We were making blueberry muffins and needed a few more items.
It was a nice walk.

Went for a walk up a street with nephew baby in his pram. Walked a little around this current property they are living at.

It has been a few days since I walked. I went out tonight and walked up to the shop and back. Nice invigorating coolness. Walked about 40 mins

Went out for a long walk tonight. Headed west along the main road path. We walked by the torch on my phone in sections as it was fairly dark out.
There is a house on the corner that is always busy looking. There is so much stuff outside including cars. Plants everywhere and clothes hanging on the clothes line plus more clothes hanging in other spots. It is a fascinating place and sometimes has food aromas waffling out the door. We cross over a road just near this house. Walk past a baptist church up a slight hilly bit and towards the public school.
I stopped to see a sign on a telegraph pole. It was saying something about a garage sale that was on today.
I felt a little cold. Just now I heard the meow of another cat outside my bedroom window, it is not the meow of my kitty though. It is properly coming from this large orange cat that I have seen here before.
Anyway after walking past the primary school we come to a tyre shop. We keep walking along approaching an old building that use to be a store that sold yummy bread. The store is not there just the building.
We keep walking along, with trees above and I noticed a garden that I always notice when I walk this way.
The path keeps going to the next suburb . At the roundabout we turned around and walk all the way back. It took us almost 2 hours to walk to the round about and back

Didn't walk yesterday. Walked today though. It was a long walk again. Properly about 2 1/2 hours. I don't walk fast at all. Just took my time. It was along the main road path. This time I really noticed the beautiful noise from bell birds. The trees on the right of me sounded like they had so many in the branches. I couldn't see any but definitely heard their sing songy voice. This is a long path. We walked to the end and stopped on route at Stratco. We were looking for a new natural weaved front door mat. The other one which has now gone in the bulk pick up. It was very worn down with ropey threads coming out of it. There wasn't any mats. But we left with a car sunshade thing, a hand saw, stainless steel manicure set and some stretchy things with hooks on the end. Not sure what they are called. We carried our stuff further along to bing lee. I waited outside while the other person walked on in.
We walked a different way back , well partly. We have driven on this road bordering the part we walked . Never walked it before. It just looked different walking it. I came across a sign that read Dairy Scotch River or something similar to that. I looked over the fence saw a tiny bit of water but it looked more like a swamp. It had quite o few tall strappy plants growing there. It felt like an adventure because I had never noticed this before. A heron was walking around too, all by itself
I think it was a heron or maybe an egret it was a beautiful clean white bird. With tall legs.
We walked home from this Scotch dairy River. It was a bit of a walk back. I was feeling tired especially in my legs. But the day was a great temperature with plenty of sunshine and fresh air.
