We can do it BBers, we can do self-care.
Sleepy21 pointed out research that shows self-care REALLY helps!
Please share what you do for self-care so we can get inspiration, ideas and motivation to do it too.
Best wishes

Good on you @quirkywords for asking for help and standing up to a controlling person! I know it can be really hard to do that.
Today for self care:
1) Drank tea and relaxed while watching Netflix - was trying to be mindful while I was watching and not let my mind ruminate
2) Tonight I will journal - something I have incorporated into my self-care routine recently
3) I will make healthy home-cooked meals for lunch and dinner

I got a timely reminder that this thread exists. Maybe others need it to come back into the spotlight, too. Things have been really difficult lately and remembering self care has been nigh impossible. Maybe some accountability would make it easier, I dunno. Here goes, anyway.
- Tried out an acceptance meditation. Sitting with the revolting stuff I'm feeling instead of following my instinct to fight it off. Good for me? Yes. Easy? No.
- Watching stuff on Netflix to just give my brain a break.
- Took time off work. Very needed right now.

Blue - so proud of you for trying acceptance meditation! I also find this very challenging to do but very helpful. I need to train my brain to do this also!
Today my self-care:
1) Sleeping in
2) Having my daily matcha latte
3) Watching things on Netflix

Thanks Missep. Definitely challenging! Worthwhile though, I think. Good work on your self care.
Another really difficult day for me today; I'm not well, my partner is in hospital and even one of my birds needed an unexpected vet visit today. I am notorious for forgetting the self care things when I need them most (I have ADHD to thank for that, I forget so much I need to remember), but I'm trying. Here's what I've got:
- Extended my time off work to cope with everything going on.
- Put on some incense before bed last night.
- Put on some mellow jazz instead of posting on here in silence. Music is so important to me, but I've even been forgetting that, lately. Fighting the good fight, to remember these things.
