We can do it BBers, we can do self-care.

Sleepy21 pointed out research that shows self-care REALLY helps!

Please share what you do for self-care so we can get inspiration, ideas and motivation to do it too.

Best wishes
EM

I self cared today by spending the day and evening in a warm bed sleeping.

Today we are going to be in a queue for Covid testing again. This time I have some knitting, crocheting, a travel book to look in, a well being magazine, food and drink.

Last time it took 8 hours. Some people waited 14 hours. Others are sleeping overnight in their cars at testing centres.

Hopefully if my mind is occupied I will be okay.

I self cared by getting out of bed all stiff n sore, walking around the house a bit, moving my hips and shoulders and increasing joint mobility.

I self cared by buying 3 choc cream donuts.

I self cared by cleaning thoroughly.

Great self-care friends!

Hey Dools, were you a Brownie? You're very prepared this time!
I was wondering how on earth those ppl can go to the loo in those long lines and ALL night long.
Do they have portaloos set up along the road?

Best wishes for a negative result!
Or are you still in the queue?

Hmmm.

We were 14th in the queue last week and only one car there this week!
Happy bout that.

My self-care is wanting - 100%, but what can I think of?
Okay...

~ I brushed my teeth

~ brushed my hair

~ wore make up to work.

Leftovers for dinner tonight, yum! And yay! My break for work is coming on the forums, until I pick the kids up from work at midnight.

KEEP UP THE GREAT SELF-CARE, it really helps!

Thanks for sharing!

Love EMxxxx

Hi EM,

Ha. Ha. No I was not a Brownie. I wanted to be over prepared so I was less likely to have another panic attack while waiting to be tested as that is what happened the first time. All that waiting did my head in. I know people are doing the best they can, I just freaked a bit.

There are porta loos at the checking centre...it was a long walk to get there from where we were in the queue and not sure people were supposed to be out of their cars in the first place! It had been recommended on Facebook that people use nappies, a bucket or a bottle!

Thankfully the second time it only took a couple of hours. Still waiting for the test results.

Self care today was important as I was feeling a bit trapped!

I sat out the front reading for a while until it became too cold. Did some gardening. Walked around in the garden.

I phoned a friend for a chat and enjoyed a laugh with her as well.

Now I am cooking our dinner.

I'm telling myself I am okay!

Cheers all from Dools

Hi all,

great to catch up with everyone’s self care- well done everyone for doing what you need to do to take care of self!

Today I was really tired from a number of things, incl a broken sleep- ( too much thinking!) and so I slept in , and sat in the sun, and came on the forums.
I also walked the dog to pick up d from the bus- tick two boxes in one!

AND I let myself feel sad and let the tears flow, in the tiny moments of breakthru.

Cheers all,

J*

Great work with your self-care everyone!

Today my self-care is:

1) Let myself sleep-in

2) Made myself homemade lunch

3) Watched Below-Deck: Mediterranean (my current obsession), who knew I would find yachting and the realities of it interesting!
