We can do it BBers, we can do self-care.

Sleepy21 pointed out research that shows self-care REALLY helps!

Please share what you do for self-care so we can get inspiration, ideas and motivation to do it too.

Hello everyone…..🤗,

It’s really nice to listen to everyone and how they are caring for themselves…

Today 3 things I did to care for me ..

  1. Putting a cool wet towel around my neck to help relieve my headache…
  2. staying inside with the air conditioner on…
  3. had some ice cream and mixed berries…

Love and gentle hugs 🩷🤗 everyone..

Grandy..

Hello Everyone 🤗

MK, I saw the Tassie Devil doco and it was very good wasn’t it. The man narrating it was so compassionate and caring about the Devils and their future. I need to change my bed sheets too!

Grandy, I hope things have cooled down a bit and your headache is better. It sounds like you found some good ways to stay cool and feel a bit better including eating ice cream and mixed berries - yum 😋

For me today:

  • Watched some YouTube videos about photography which I really enjoy doing. I learn about cameras I’m not likely to ever buy but I find it so interesting to see how different cameras have specific qualities and features that lead to different creative possibilities.
  •  Walked to my local supermarket to get a few supplies before the public holiday tomorrow. It was sunny with a strong breeze. It was lovely to be outside.
  • Decided not to do a cooked dinner tonight because I don’t feel up to making it. Sometimes a bits and pieces dinner is ok.

Lots of love and hugs to everyone and may 2025 be a good year ahead 💗

Hugs,

ER

1. bed to sleep in

2. I can cook for my family

3. donuts (GF and REALLY TASTY)

Hello,

today, I went to the gym again & worked out more than I've recently been doing, primarily because I am sure the injection I had has had a beneficial effect. I still thnk I need to be careful, ever-mindful of how I am moving, how much weight or resistance I have set the machines to, how long for each exercise, or how many repetitions , so I don't cause myself injuries.

I resisted the strong urge to by some yummy hot chips at the take-a-way shop, & bought lovely egg & lettuce sandwiches instead.

& I have returned to adding a few drops of lemon (or lime) juice into my drinking water, to encourage me to get enough each day. I've been trying to drink more when I exercise, but on days when I don't, I find it more difficult, because I find the taste of plain water, even chilled, seems 'off' to me.

smallwolf, I love donuts but rarely eat them these days because I eat (mostly) gluten free. So you've given me the idea of seeking out gluten free donuts - yum!

MK, it's good you are being mindful at the gym to make sure you don't get injured. I overdid it once and then had to stop going for a bit and wait for an injury to heal. I haven't belonged to a gym for a few years now but I think it would be good for me to build up my bone strength. That's a great idea to add a dash of lemon or lime to water.

My self-cares today were:

  • Walking to my local shops to get a few grocery items. I will usually walk if I know I won't have to carry too much home and I feel up to it. It was really nice to be outside in the breeze and fresh air and get that bit of exercise.
  • Listening to an informative podcast linked to mental health while doing dinner. I'm always trying to solve my current issues whatever they are. I find listening to podcasts really helps me to both start routine tasks and stay with them while educating or entertaining myself at the same time.
  • Washing my bath towel, hand towels, and tea towel. It feels really nice to have clean towels.

My self-cares for today:

  1. Went on a night-walk
  2. Had a much needed nap after work
  3. Got to do a bit of writing this afternoon

sbella, I love night walks. The atmosphere is so completely different. It can be especially beautiful on summer evenings. In the city it isn't something I'd usually do on my own. Though I do remember once taking my housemate's large husky/kelpie cross on a night walk by the ocean. He was like a white wolf and such a big strong dog that I felt safe with him. The stars were out and so bright and his white coat seemed to shine. It was magical. I now live in a small country town where I haven't done a night walk on my own but I think I could as it is a pretty safe town.

My self-cares today were:

  • Going for a coastal walk.
  • Reading some things to help myself with focus and concentration difficulties.
  • Keeping in contact with a friend.
