We can do it BBers, we can do self-care.
Sleepy21 pointed out research that shows self-care REALLY helps!
Please share what you do for self-care so we can get inspiration, ideas and motivation to do it too.
Best wishes
EM

My self-care for today: it's gonna be tricky as I sit here in grungy filthy clothes after a busy day but I'll try!!
~ I ate a healthy breakfast
~ I made a healthy lunch for us all and ate mine too lol
~ I worked hard in my garden today PUTTING UP THE CHOOK PALACE oh yeah! And did some awesome gardening when our handyman didn't need my help lol. The gardening is MY self-care, the Chook Palace is too btw lol..more on the gardening thread soon!
~ I ASKED for help! P.son came and removed some pretty wrangling stumps of lantana, I did too and it was awesome lol. SO HAPPY and this spurred me on to ask my OTHER sons for help over the next few days before I return to work. One said YES lol, the others were kinda - mum... I'm working x number of shifts, have assessment tasks due... I said not to worry THIS time.
So tomorrow me and a whole TWO of my sons will be doing all sorts of garden fancies tomorrow - been a LONG time since I had that much help.
I'm grateful!
Love EMxxxx

I slept in, this may sound a bit lazy, but it pays dividends, lack of sleep and stress is cumulative and needs a release, so quite often I do this.
I (mostly) cleared my desk of umpteen small nagging things I'd intended to do, and found people friendly and cooperative
Mrs C and I went out and dined with friends, the company excellent and Mrs C, who likes seafood (surprise!) was only just visible behind a pile of scallops.

We missed you too Croix!
Hahaha I loved reading your self-care things. I hope you found Mrs C under that pile of scallops OR she could eat her way through them lol.
Gosh Croix, I completely forgot about an event like "going out for dinner with friends" like it was a thing of the past... in hard lock down here for months now, only horrid ways out IMO.
My self-care for yesterday:
~ asked for and received help from my sons. Lots of work achieved and now our chickens are safe, we Pray.
~ had leftovers for dinner - late, but I ate so that's good!
~ had a long hot scrubby bath.
Love and best wishes

I self cared today by reading 4 pages of the bible, as I missed yesterdays two pages due to ___, and made up for that loss by reading yesterdays 2, with todays 2, thus 2+2=4.
I self cared today by putting on gloves because my hands were freezing.
I self cared today by taking off those gloves because I cannot type in them, and I must write, absolutely must write, and cold nor hot nor sickness will stop me.

Hi everyone,
hey LTF, well done on the bushwalking! I love that you spotted a kangaroo, aren't they special? We have some that visit regularly, on the block next door, and I love watching the joeys grow up.
Today was a self care day! Everything I did, I had to remind myself that I was due for some SC!
*Slept in - (I agree Croix)
*Went for a beach walk with the family, despite feeling tired and sore...
*Watched a movie after lunch with T 🙂
*Had a long hot bath and then massaged in some homemade body butter
*Easy dinner!
Love
J*

I self cared today by following the advice of my wife, which was to have a nice warm shower to start the day and put on freshly cleaned clothes.
I self cared today by providing a link to the 1800respect definitions of abuse to a friend who rarely acts abusively but never believes he is abusive.
I self cared today by eating this porridge.
