We can do it BBers, we can do self-care.
Sleepy21 pointed out research that shows self-care REALLY helps!
Please share what you do for self-care so we can get inspiration, ideas and motivation to do it too.
Best wishes
EM

Three self care things I did today :
1. Poked my arms and head out of the window in the car this evening, whilst I was in the passenger seat (obviously had my seatbelt on) as the acoustic version of Eric Clapton’s ‘Layla’ was playing on the radio. It was soooo good to feel the wind blowing on my face. It also moved my arms around too. It felt so refreshing. Gazing up at the stars was also something that made me enormously happy too.
2. Exercised and went for a walk this afternoon.
3. Spent time with my Dad!! 🙂

Hello. Sorry I've accidentally put my last post on the wrong thread.
It was supposed to be on the thread about "things I noticed in nature" by Shelll, however, looking at a beautiful orange sunset after a very hot autumns day is also a measure of self care. Standing in awe enjoying the beauty of the sunset gave me peace and tranquility. Thank you for reading. With kind regards.

Hey Malaika
We APPRECIATE your post and you being here!🥰 I love your self-care posts, nice ones!
As Shelll said no reason to feel sorry. Thanks Shelll, that was really sweet of you to say that.
Hey Tay, that's wonderful you got to see your psych AND your GP. I hope you feel more supported and I Pray things improve for your MH really soon! Nice ones!
Hey J*, lol you called those Easter buns without the crosses that's funny... amazing loving self-care for you and your family. Nice ones!
It's not fun when those alarms go off on our days off for sure!
I took my alarms off last night then woke before dawn anyhow lol...
Hey PsychelicFur, that feeling of BEING ALIVE when the wind is rushing past your face is amazing. Nice ones!
Hey Shelll, thankyou for being here and for all your support here and across the forums. You're so kind and compassionate. Thankyou!
My self-care:
~ dissed my house and garden work yesterday and went to the movies with my grandkids and eldest daughter. It was warm and lovely.
~ got delivery Indian food because that's what p.son wanted lol. It was yum!
~ went to bed early. It was SO LOVELY to have that opportunity! I slept well.
~ woke up before dawn and got the wonderful opportunity to see the sun rise! Yay!
Hope you can fit some awesome self-care in to your day.
Love EM

Hello all, been a while.
so much self care and self compassion in the last couple of months, where do i start?!?
well i’ll keep it short.
enjoying the little things (the feel of grass on my feet,
gathering wood to keep us warm during the winter. Chopping releases frustrations, and when im finished i have something to show for my efforts.
Doing Home reno’s and making timber gifts for the family.
Every day challenges can pile up causing the reasons why we’re here. keep up your self care everyone, it is important to take care of yourself mentally and physically.

Some days i find self care hard as I am thinking of others.
today
I went for a walk
met some new people
thinking of doing something I have not done for years.
