Hi All,
In the past there may have been threads on sleep and how to improve our quality of sleep.
I am starting this thread up and hope to include past thread titles.
For some of us sleep is a real issue, the more we can learn about it the better informed we will be.
Funny stories on weird places you have fallen asleep are welcome as well.
For me, I had just moved house and was very busy getting everything organised. Friends invited me to the drag races. I was so tired and exhausted that I sat down, leant against the fence right near the starting line and fell asleep for most of the evening.
Hope to read some of your stories and tips.

Hi Paul and Keypi and all
My previous dr recommended magnesium. The tablets upset my gut but the oil is good.
Keypi I meant just massage your own shoulders with it - if I had someone to do that I’m sure I’d be asking every day ha ha.

Hi Everyone,
There certainly have been some good ideas and suggestions here.
My issue is I managed to fall asleep okay than I am wide awe in a couple of hours. I have tried the get up and do something ideas and then return to bed when you are tired, only that tiredness doesn't usually come back.
Sitting around makes my body ache so I get fed up with that as well! I too am getting so tired my brain doesn't work well!
A massage every night sounds like a wonderful idea! Yes, even a self massage would be helpful. Thanks for the ideas!

Hahaha oh right that makes sense now, lol silly me 😄 well I'll definitely give it ago, and yes magnesium does tend to cause an upset stomach, which is why they say you should take it with food but that's a bit hard to do right before bed cos it will wake you up.
Yes I agree with you Dools, I feel the same way I fall asleep then boom wide awake and can't get back to sleep, or it's a case of awake, asleep then awake again then asleep then AWAKE again. It feels just crazy sometimes.

Maybe some of us don't need as much sleep as others? I don't know. My body tells me it needs some decent sleep though!
Last night when it was time for bed, the cat ran behind the couch. We usually put her down the back of the house where she has her own Queen sized bed and other rooms to play in.
She would not come out so I had to just leave her. All night she ran all over me in bed, meowed and carried on. I was too tired to get up and put her back into her rooms!
Darn cat! Ha. Ha.

Hello Mrs Dools and all..
I have a similar problem with my two dogs, They each have a soft fluffy bed each in the loungeroom, they use them until I go to bed, no matter how quiet I am they know I’ve gone to bed and decide it’s playtime by jumping over me and ruff n tumble time on my bed, it lasts about 5 minutes then they both lay down and use my back to lean against..if I move over to get away from them...they follow until eventually I have about 1/4 of the bed and they have the rest...
If you take look at our animal world they generally sleep from sundown to sun up...where we tend to sit up late...I’m wondering if we had no tv, phones, radio, internet etc..nothing to do after sundown would we do the same as the animals do...I remember a few camping trips we all bedded down as soon as it got dark...having no technology I wonder if our ancestors went to bed when it got dark?.. Is technology a cause for the escalating problems of not getting enough sleep...Just my thoughts...

Interesting thoughts. I also guess that for some people, life was a lot tougher physically so by the end of the day they may have been exhausted and slept well.

Hi Everyone,
The same thing happens to my Grandy with my two dogs they are so calm then I go to bed and boom wrestling time on top of me at least they do settle quickly. But in the mornings they are definitely taking up more of the bed.
When we went camping we still stayed up til after sun down but not always. I think you right about the physical activities that would otherwise exhaust them. Some times when camping I couldn't stay awake after sun down because I usually had a very physical day. However the environment in the city is very different and going to work is tiring and my job is physical but it just doesn't have the same effect.
Annie it's not good when you can't sleep I'm sorry to hear you've been struggling sometimes after a while it builds up and your body just gives up and you get a good night sleep.
