Hi All,
Just wanted to share a quote with you that someone shared with me a little while ago. It's certainly helped me see brighter days at times.
You are a person
You are not only your pain
You are not only scars and wounds;
You are also better things.
You are possibility and promise,
Hope and healing and daydreams.
You are favourite books and favourite songs.
You are the people you love, and the people who love you.
You are HOPE and CHANGE
and things worth fighting for.
This is your story
And your story isn't over.
(Jamie Tworkowski)

Hi Sparkles,
I love the quote you have added. My partner is just about to turn 40, so I think I will borrow this quote for his birthday card!!
Today I have more of an inspirational story, about starfish & hope...
One day, a man was walking along a beach. He saw a young man picking up starfish and throwing them into the ocean.
He came closer and called out 'Good morning! May I ask what it is that you are doing?'
The young man paused, looked up, and replied 'Throwing starfish into the ocean.'
'I must ask, then, why are you throwing starfish into the ocean?' asked the somewhat startled wise man.
To this, the young man replied, 'The sun is up and the tide is going out. If I don't throw them in, they'll die.'
Upon hearing this, the wise man commented, 'But, young man, do you not realize that there are miles and miles of beach and there are starfish all along every mile? You can't possibly make a difference!'
At this, the young man bent down, picked up yet another starfish, and threw it into the ocean. As it met the water, he said, 'It made a difference for that one.'
So, can I encourage you to take the time to do something that will make a difference to someone else's life ... and it doesn't have to be much and they don't need to know. Just take a moment, do something special ... the universe will know and that's enough.

After a while you learn the subtle difference between holding a hand and chaining a soul.
And you learn that love doesn't mean leaning and company doesn't mean security.
And you begin to learn.
And kisses aren't compromises. And presents aren't promises.
And you begin to accept your defeats with your head up & your eyes ahead with the grace of a woman or a man not the grief of a child.
And you learn to build all your loads on today, Because tomorrow's ground is too uncertain for plans And futures have a way of falling down mid-flight.
After a while you learn that even sunshine burns if you ask too much.
So you plant your own garden And decorate your own soul Instead of waiting for someone to buy you flowers.
And you learn that you really can endure,
That you really are strong.
And you really do have worth.
And you learn.
And you learn. With every experience you learn.

We haven't had any quotes posted recently so I offer a few that resonate well with me in terms of acceptance:
"There is always a certain peace in being what one is, in being that completely" (Ugo Betti); and
“If you are faced with a mountain, you have several options. You can climb it and cross to the other side. You can go around it.You can dig under it.You can fly over it.You can blow it up.You can ignore it and pretend it’s not there. You can turn around and go back the way you came.Or you can stay on the mountain and make it your home.” (Vera Nazarian)
