Hi!
Thanks for making this post! Self-care is a big battle for me and something that I struggle with. I often have to battle that self-care isn't selfish and that I have to make time for it. People keep reminding me of the oxygen mask metaphor (put it on you before you put it on others) but somehow it goes in one ear and out the other!
Anyway, some of the things I like to do for self care are reading, watching TV (as long as it's light!), browsing endlessly through Pinterest, playing games on my phone, writing in my gratitude journal, baking or doing jigsaw puzzles.
None of these seem quirky though?! What are yours?

Hi Romantic_thi3f
perhaps i used wrong wording there lol.i shouldve said 'out of the box 'sort of self care- does that make a little bit more sense? For example some people find dancing around the house a form of self care bu perhaps its a little less mainstream. i really like hearing what anyone does though and is the main reason for this thread 🙂
Pintrest and Baking are 2 things i do to as well as doing some or of art 🙂 i love your other ideas too!
Hello MsP 🙂

Hello all,
My out of the box self care is... eating ice cream 😛😊😊 ....at the beach. 🍦🍦🌊🌊
This is kind of ironic given that I refuse to eat for long periods of time.
Great topic somethingnew !
Warmest wishes

HI SN
My favourite book/s by far are the Harry Potter books. My favourite of the series is book 5 (Order of the Phoenix). I lived in a country town when it came out. The town had sold out at pre-sale and I was kinda shattered knowing this. My dad suprised me on the day with it on the day it was released. I was so happy. It was also the first Harry Potter book I read without the audio books. That was a huge thing as I am dyslexic and didn't believe I could read a book like that. Changed my attitude and believed I could. However to this day I do not like reading allowed due to my past.
I also started doing triathlons in April last year. I train more (starting this month) as the season is about to start. I am not very good but I do have fun trying and meeting people along the way. It is a sport for people of different physical abilities (short and longer distances). I think something like that can be good for self care. Exercise for a goal like doing a short triathlon. Because there is an end goal
