Hi Everyone

Just a brief note. I have always struggled big time remembering my New Years Resolution each year, let alone actually sticking to it!

I read this hint this morning and thought 'Ah Ha!", that makes a lot of sense.

It may just help you too!

NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS - 'It takes seven days to create a new habit, another seven days to make it a behaviour, then another seven days to create a positive neurological pathway'.

21 days or three weeks in total!

I'm going to give it a go. The Bro.

Hello The Bro,😺 & Happy New Year to you.

I'm not sure I manage to string 7 days together, doing anything in a routine way, unless we're accepting idiosyncratic disorder. Then I'm your mmMekitty!

I wonder how '7' came to be the number of days? Seems pretty conveniently co-incidental that it is the length of a week.

If it works for people, go for it!

Mind if I ask you what your New Year's Resolution for 2022 is? 😸 Answer here, & it will be on record! You can look back yourself when you think you've forgotten as well.

OK then mmMekitty, here it is!

In two parts actually, both pretty simple.

1. Be more loving and tolerant to my lovely wife.

2. Learn more every day.

Can you share yours?

Regards and Happy New year to you too!

Thanks for the challenge, The Bro. 😺

I admit, I don't bother even thinking of any sort of New Year resolutions formalised in this way.

My first goal of this year, I suppose, must be to get through the next few weeks/months of my post-surgery recovery. To not allow what has happened to in any way diminish how I feel about myself, my body, no matter what weird shape it is in now, & then to get on with improving my physical health. I'm not sure how much of this I have 'set in concrete', so can't guarantee how well I will follow through. I'm sure I will do better if I can accept help with these goals.

I also want to continue to talk with my sis, & form a better relationship, maybe even rediscover long-ago burried feelings, so if I ever say 'I love you' I will mean it. & doing this, knowing we do not have an infinite number of years in which to make our familial relationship what I yearn for.

Thanks The Bro, for asking,. If you hadn't, I don't know if I would have answered this way by myself.

Wow mmMeKitty that is an awesome response.

I agree 100%. Self love and respect is paramount, it sounds like you are on track with that and I wish you a speedy recuperation.

Your comments about your sis remind me a little about my Dad and one of my daughters. It took me ages to swallow my stupid pride and tell my Dad he was a great Dad and I loved him. I am so glad I did that as his reaction was very emotional and he died shortly after.

My daughter is quite stubborn but our relationship moved onto another level last year when the same thing happened and we both had a good old cry after talking about recognising our differences.

So thanks to you for that in return mmMekitty!

Regards, The Bro
