When I'm well I do regular exercise, volunteer work & quite a bit of socializing!! It has taken me years to get to this point..I wasn't able to do any of these for a long period of time(years)..I talk to my regular friends about my illness as I find it to be very liberating & validating..I do lots of homework with my psychologist..I have learned so much from attending those appointments..thanks Gypsy 1

Hi Gypsy

Welcome again. Thank you for sharing your story of how you stay well. That's so wonderful to hear and so brave of you to post.

You'll find you're not alone there are many members here who are always looking at different ways to keep well. There is also a thread -

What helps to keep well that you can find by doing a search in the search field at the top of the BB webpage. It's under the Staying Well forum. It would be awesome if you could post / join the discussion there and maybe share some of what you do, there, to help others.

Also you might find it interesting to have a look at what others are doing?

Kind regards

PamelaR

Hey Gypsy,

That is awesome! You sound like you have really progressed over the years and you should be proud. That is amazing!

The fact that you are exercising, sharing your emotions, volunteering, socialising is great and is really important for your own self-care. Although much of what your doing is seen as cliché, they work!!!!

Do you or have you tried eating a balanced diet? This is extremely hard for many of us but might be something to look into as something as simple as eating well can change your life. Nutrition is extremely important for our well-being both physically and mentally. This could be something you can look into.

I think its also great and super important to keep seeing your psychologist. Regular check-ups and maintenance is super important for many of us.

I am very happy to hear that you are gradually implementing new methods and techniques that are improving your condition. Amazing stuff and keep it up.

Look forward to hearing from you again,

Nick

Hey Gypsy,

Just stick at it my friend. It is an extremely long and testing journey but you have to keep at it and keep pushing because when you come out the other side you will realise so much about yourself. Making lifestyle changes and ensuring these are sustainable long term changes and commitments will greatly assist you in your progress and development and most importantly your mental well-being.

All the best,

Look forward to hearing from you.

Nick.
