Welcome to my first post, just to disclaim this has nothing to do about me being depressed or suicidal.
I just cant get over how unbelievably pointless & painful this life factly is, now when i say this i don't mean that we should all just stop what we're doing & start staring at a wall, but its really important to not be naive about this, which is kinda what society is, a whole cesspool of contradictions & distractions, most of the things that we do nowadays are to just feed the mind & keeping the body satitsfied from breaking down too suddenly by stimulation such as releasing chemical rewards, all these can be achieved but cant always guaranteed happiness, which is another thing i cant stand about this civilisation or should i say work in progress, its almost like if you cant be happy to a certain extend or people please to fulfill theyre jester full desires, theyre gonna be contempt of you no matter what, all becuase you cant live up to absurd expectations, nobody's gonna be problem free in this world, which is why most of the things we do are just to kill time, which is why i can understand why people get addicted to things, because we live in a reality thats pretty disappointing, even those things have a limit, it may be giving you relief, but realise it never lasts long, only because we're not so used to looking into healthier outlets, to be honest i dont think we live in a healthy world, most things are instant gratification, chasing pleasure, looks maxing, because sooner or later you have to ask yourself why do we need all these things just to get by in life that never lasts forever, its only awkward at first when youre not so used to asking such things, like being conditioned since the start of birth, by people who arent even aware themmelves of whats going on around them, but expect you to know what you wanna do when really its not as straight forward as anyone thought is was gonna be, for pete sake, people cant even figure out what theyre gonna do next weekend, yet they expect you to have your future figured out, we live in a double standard judgemental condescending populous, which is why its very important to see behind the scenes in everything, its dangerous to be gullible by believing everything you see or hear, It is quite certain that society doesnt really do a good job teaching these sort of attributes.
Stupid how they only give you 2500 characters, its like theyre allergic to hear what people really have to say, anyway thank's for reading.

Hello, today i wanted to talk about "reality"...
Now we can romanticise all we like by lying to others, lying to ourselves, thinking that contastophies will never happen to us, binging in distractions whether it'll be streaming services or gambling right, or shying away from inconvenience's you would see in public as if they arent real, creating promiscuous expectations.
But when it comes to facing reality, our instinct would be turning our back's on it... (not everyone) we have to understand, that setting multitude's of goals & planning without taking into consideration about the consequences, by stripping away all the fairy floss right to the bone, you'll start to see that life never shows mercy.
You think your that in control of your life, you think everything will turn out as you expect, you think life is some kind of wonderland, you think you got life all figured out uh uh uh the more you refuse to accept that it isnt pretty as you imagined it'll be, the more it's gonna come knocking on your door, putting you in a corner, unprepared.
Reality is a harsh atrophising exerting existence with no breaks, it doesnt care how well we're doing in life, it doesnt care how much we indulge ourselves, it doesnt care if we cant pay our loans, it doesnt care that we got fired, it doesnt care if our loved ones arent doing too great, you catching on now?
Now i will admit when it comes to our imagination's, people do a very good job creating illusions, "like all the time right", which hijack's our perception's while deceiving us at the same time, instead of facing head on for "what it is", its feel good to alter it right, but dont go dwelling on that feeling.
Just like social media, you see people happy all the time then you start to get jealous by comparing yourself to them, as if you're not enough, when you must know, those same highlights you see aren't all as they appear to be, they may look happy online, but are they actually happy "behind the scenes".
Then we manufacture more of these false idealisation's from these highlights by blending it with reality, how everything is supposed to be oh if youre happy & you know it clap your hands blah blah🎶, man shush up... ha ha ha, but seriously shush up you know.
We need to stop doing this by making out everythings great all the time, as if everyone has the same outlook, because its not, the sooner we accept that the better we can tolerate ourselves & our outcomes, lifes not gonna always turn out as (you) expect.
Signing off.

There's a lot in there man! The bit about the world essentially slapping us in the face sometimes, and us being generally shocked by it, I think is true. Many people do not realise that yes, bad things in many forms can happen. Even when we do realise, and think about them in abstract form, when they actually eventuate it can still be shocking. I suspect that people in ancient times probably coped better, given that their lives were often one disaster after another. So they got a lot of practice.

Thank you for writing this and putting a name to the harshness of life that most people actively ignore. You captured that devastating moment when the neat future we expect collides with the reality that arrives. When life suddenly strips away our safety nets, whether through sudden loss or unexpected crisis, the shock is brutal and leaves us feeling exposed.
I agree that avoidance is instinctive. The mind learns that reality can be deeply unsafe. To manage that fear, we build elaborate defences, like numbing ourselves with distractions or pretending we do not feel. These reactions are a survival mechanism developed when facing the truth was too costly.
I do not think we have to strip away every layer of protection and stand completely bare in the storm. Instead, the work is about building enough internal ground to tolerate reality without being destroyed by it. That process is slow and painful, but it is deeply honest.
What you describe, pulling the fairy floss back to the bone, is something I recognise from my own life. I have had to dismantle the comforting stories I built to survive to find out what was actually underneath. It is incredibly uncomfortable. Yet on the other side of that dismantling is a steadying clarity that illusion could never provide.

Hi Realist_Sapien
Life is definitely conditional. If life could speak, I imagine it would say 'I'll show you your personal 'reality' based on a number of factors, focus and level of consciousness included'. I imagine it may say
- If you focus on nothing but suffering, I will show you nothing but sufferance and this will be your reality. If you become fully conscious of all the ways in which you can constructively end sufferance to different degrees, you'll experience a different reality
- If you focus on nothing but grief and heartbreak, I will lead you to feel grief and heartbreak and this will be your reality. The deeper you go into grief and heartbreak the deeper you will feel such things. If you become more conscious of the ways out of grief and heartbreak, through this shift in reality you will find the way out
- If you focus on believing in all the lies you've been led to believe about yourself while growing up, that you are worthless, hopeless and good for nothing, this will be a part of your reality. If you become fully conscious of the truth, you will find your way out of all the lies. You will experience a different reality
Of course, people don't suddenly stop suffering in 3rd world countries, for example, just because our focus shifts away from them. There are still people suffering whether we're focused on them or not. Our reality is personal, when compared to a global reality. Perhaps this is one of life's challenges, to start small, to start just with ourself and work outwards while impacting the lives of others.
If life could speak, I imagine it would say 'I'll show to you a different reality on the condition you shift focus and graduate upwards through greater levels of consciousness'. Life has its conditions and can be far from easygoing. It's a tough teacher that demands hard work from us at times.

Honestly, what on earth do people really see in this life like literally, this is not to discourage anybody, its a fair question because Im just not seeing it as others expect me to, everything has become so virtual signaled opposed as normal & okay where hardly anyone speak's up for whats actually going on.
Like why do we have to participate in all this buffoonery that we never asked to be apart of anyway, i never asked to be part of this existence, i never asked to have parents who then again act like authoritarian wannabes, i never asked to go to school, I never asked to go into the workforce, I never ask to have all these thoughts, I never asked to have an atrophising meat suit, I never asked to age, & i certainly never asked to just pass away one day, thats not a deal, thats a scam, this is what im talking about, yet people make it feel like a crime just for talking about this stuff, gotta watch what you say, gotta play it cool all the time, because it sounds uneasy which is why people make it taboo in the first place.
They rather you shut your mouth keep it to yourself, pretend to be happy as usual, because if you dont then youre a disgrace to society, in others words youre just not productive enough to fulfill their quota's.
Everything just feels so pretentious & ungenuine, its like my soul has left me long before I even realised because it knows this life full of vast amounts of struggle's, like not to make this too personal, why would anybody wanna bring another being into existence, just to go throught what you are going through, then they have the audacity to say that they care & love em, well if they truly cared then you wouldn't condemn them in the first place now would you, because face it, how many folks keep in touch with their parents these days, not many of them are there.
Another thing that annoys me is just how everything's just keeps getting harder all the time, price's keep rising, expectations keep rising, when does it ever end, how many more hoops do we have to keep jumping through just to have a simple life, its ironic how people always strive for an easy life, but somehow just keep making it harder for no reason, yet we like to brag & call oursleves revolutionary, man get out of here, because i can guarantee right now that we were not meant to live like this, it seems technology continues to advance while we go backwards, social media is trash, trying to get support is trash nowadays, everything cost a fortune, its just gone too far.

What do you mean by virtue signaling, pretentious and ingenuine? People keep saying that I act entitled, manipulative, etc, but I don't know what they mean by this or how I am doing these things.

Hi Realist_Sapien
You ask a lot of valid questions while making a number of fair observations. There are definitely plenty of broken systems out there, in need of fixing. That's for sure. And we know they need fixing because you can feel the brokenness of them. Some systems are highly stressful or frustrating. Others can feel incredibly defeating and depressing. In fairness, I take my hat off the all those in the past who have fixed or eliminated plenty of things that have needed fixing or eliminating. Of course, there's still a long way to go in some areas of society and the world in general. As I say, you can feel it.
I've found a part of the challenge is to manage how to be a feeler in life. If we're born to feel, 'How to do it in a way where it doesn't destroy us?' becomes the question. With you mentioning 'its like my soul has left me long before I even realised', I can relate to how there can be the need to tap more into the soulful stuff so as to be able to better manage an existence that can feel soul destroying at times. Being somewhat of a 'woo woo' gal, I can honestly say I don't think I could survive without that in my life, given a history of depression without it. I just couldn't manage without wondering about certain elements and gaining an education in some sense. The soulful or spiritual stuff involves a massive rabbit hole. Once you go down, there's a need to consciously choose direction. I think it's about finding the stuff that serves us, as opposed to plenty of the things down that rabbit hole that can be misleading or of no service at all. It's not about exploring the stuff we can't relate to, it involves starting with and wondering about the things we can relate to, the things that are of some interest. It's the developing interest/s that help shift focus away from what can feel depressing.
A new interest is not going to necessarily stop us from feeling frustrating or enraging or stressful or depressing elements but it can lead us to feel or perceive them differently. For example, we could focus on how depressing social media can be in some cases or we could focus on why we feel the vibe of certain social media platforms. In other words, in the world of quantum physics, why does every cell in our body vibrate at a certain frequency of dis-ease when we view such platforms? It can be far more fascinating knowing how we tick than it can be scrolling through certain social media sites. One of those things is a waste of time, whereas the other offers an education.
Thomas Campbell's an interesting guy, in my opinion. A physicist who began wondering about and scientifically exploring the concept of 'consciousness', he found himself eventually exploring soulful elements. He's someone who offers reasons for why we can suffer not only mentally and physically in this world but in a soulful sense too. A bit of a look into his work could come to be a welcome distraction from what's going on in this world.

Human's are a very sadistic twisted species... including myself.
A few thing's we gotta realise here is no matter how advanced, no matter how much knowledge we accumulate, no matter how much infrastructure we create, no matter how much exercise we get, no matter how well we excel in life, no matter how healthy we eat, its still never enough, now bare with me on this.
As Humans we tend to have this false narrative as if theres some big calling out there for us, when really life just is, it is us that makes life super hard & complicating, tell me... why is it we are the only one's that struggle so much in this life, now dont get me wrong, other species are susceptible to suffering as well, however we especially do this to oursleves excessively even more than we're aware of.
For example let's just say someone wanted to quit smoking even though it is hard, so what the mind does is start looking for way's to convince itself otherwise to keep on smoking even though the individual knows it's bad for their health.
In otherwords we spiral into this false reasoning where we always need to be conquesting for something, even if it brings us pain & torture, this is nothing more but cognitive dissonance & we as whole exacerbate this unconsciously in many ways.
Isn't it contray how we always foresee a simple life yet we go beyond measures than our minds & bodies can realistically handle, then we wonder why suicidal rates sky-rocket, people getting more depressed, loseing faith, because the problem isnt about having more, its because "we cant help ourselves".
It really doesn't take a genius to know out of all the most inventive times in the century, we are still repeating the same predicament while pretending to be otherwise, another example, how many times do you greet the same folk's at work or wherever repeating the same sentences to eachother while holding back our true nature that can cost us our position's & time committed, its not because they wanna be there at least majority, its because we fell for the fallcy where we kid oursleves this is how life is meant to be when it really isn't the case at all.
Life never had a rigid formula nor recipe to begin with, but because we as a species "cant help ourselves", by creating flawed double standard notions, is the reason we remain unenlightened to no end in sight, we can fool oursleves all we like, when all we're really doing is coping from existential dread.

We are all living in a pipe dream, we have a tendency to go by our illusions & fantasies like all the time right, i mean almost everything that we associate with today came abstractly so, basically the world was a whole canvas before we came along & to cure our bordem pants, we create all sorts of monstrous gear like weapons of mass destruction, homicide, human trafficking, poverty, pollution, enslavement e.g, i mean why is it so taboo to mention about this while wearing the veil about how we're such an empathic species, yea okay, if theres anything i cant stand the most is how egotistical & arrogant people can really be, we make out as if we have life all figured out, we think we're here for a particular reason when really it was two people in the room that made it happen deliberately & call it a blessing when clearly they werent thinking at all, its like having a second brain where massive impulse's come from, then when kiddo asks oh mummy & daddy why did you bring me here?
Instead we'll come up with a foul excuse to retain our shallow morality, we like to throw this notion around where money doesnt buy happiness, oh okay, we have a habit of thinking how we're so special & above all other life forms, we have this ludicrously that were the chosen one's & here to save the world... yea well hows that going so far, I know people on this platform perceive me as a negative nancy, well to be honest if you actually find what im saying "negative" then that all depends on you.
I just can't phantom the expense going through the motions everyday like a mindless puppeteer & not at least ask myself what on earth this is all this about, how can anyone enjoy being stuck at a building half their day, come back hit up some streaming services or whatever it is you do & just to do it all over again repetitively, being stuck in traffic, dealing with impatient imbeciles on the road with big cars like theyre iron man or something, keeping an eye on your petrol gauge hoping the next time you have to fill up is not so costly, spending all your hard earned money on essentials just to be at square one again thanks to bills, dealing with high school student like co workers, that you dont even wanna put up with anyways, getting anxiety, cant keep a job, blaming ourselves when really it isnt our fault, truth is nobody asked for this.... so why keep doing it, why are we so blind to continue believing that theres something here for us, how long does this insanity have to keep going for.

Hi Realist_Sapien
While I'm not a supporter of 'the simulation theory' (aka 'the matrix theory'), although it does amuse me somewhat, I can relate to wondering how life works or is meant to work. 'Who's worked it out? How's it all meant to work? What does it look like if it's mastered?' etc are things I occasionally wonder about. History points to masters like Jesus and Siddhartha Gautama (The Buddha), who spoke of the way, practiced it and taught it. Some could argue that things did not go so well for some of the masters and they would not be wrong. Some could also argue that some of the practices and teachings of the masters are questionable but I would suggest a distortion of the teachings and practices are more questionable than anything. Whether they're taken out of context or whether they're used for ill gain is worth questioning at times. Another argument could be based on such masters never having had to deal with social media, road traffic conditions and other challenges that are around today yet their teachings still point to self mastery being the ultimate goal. How to master elements of the mind, how to master elements of the body (such as the nervous system) and how to master elements of the soul become the goal. If all are mastered then everything becomes like water off a duck's back. That's the idea anyway.
In some cases, definitely not all, modern considerations or approaches can take away from understanding certain natural abilities that can lead to greater self understanding and self mastery. And, yes, it can be intensely challenging to test or develop these abilities in today's age. Unless it leads to or causes disorder or catastrophe, disassociation is an ability in some cases, 'leaving the body' is an ability, feeling everyone's emotions is an ability, as is complete emotional detachment at times. Being able to sense even the slightest shift in energy in the body (from a single twitch in a nerve to painful gut imbalance) points to an ability.
The list goes on. While in certain cultures such things point to abilities, in the DSM-5 they're only addressed as disorders when they reach a state or stage of disorder. We have the manual that points to all possible disorders and how to treat them but not one that points to all possible abilities and how to master them.
While so much in life points to everything wrong in this world, the questions remain 'How have we managed to get it so wrong?' and 'How can we manage to get it right?'. Careful evolution of the species.
