A Bouquet for Pearls - share your appreciation for other members

Every now and then, members share a beautiful Pearl of Wisdom. How often do you think to yourself; "OMG that's great! I wish everyone could see this."

Presenting someone with a bunch of flowers is a generous way of acknowledging their insightful words.

I hope this thread stays active through members giving out praise regularly to people they feel deserving, and therefore keep generosity of spirit alive within the pages of BeyondBlue Forum.

My bunch of Red Roses (my choice) goes to Wishful for the following sentence;

  • 'Personally, I see no reason to be praised in me, but I'm learning that seeing through the eyes of others can be more accurate!!'

I so hear you Wishful. Just beautiful...

  1. Try to keep your leading comments short to focus on 'their' words.
  2. Choose specific flowers (or a gift if you like) to present to them.
  3. Sign off respectfully and sincerely.

I hope this takes off...

Spreading the love...Sara

Hey all,

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone that contributes to this site. The advice and general chat helps to ground me.

Last time I visited, I was posting threads, since then when I have a rough patch I find coming back here and gaining perspective ( and distraction) which helps relieve my anxiety.

Keep up the good work.

We parade our faults to ourselves and others and believe this encompases all that we are.

Thank you Mary (White Rose) for these gems in Quirky's critic thread.

Positive statements such as I can drive well, I can knit and sew, I am a good mother etc, start to reverse the brainwashing we do to ourselves as well as allowing others to define us.

We can get so far down this road that many people give up and accept their inferiority.

I went to Quirky's thread today trying to find some way to quiet the critic. Found your words and remembered once you asked me to rewrite a post of mine removing the negatives (and the word NOT).

I feel inferior. But you are right, that is me accepting to feel that way.

Thank you for the reminder ❤

Nat

Thank you so much for your words. I have just found your comments and feel so touched by reply. I wish I had seen them before Friday but I went to Melbourne on Tuesday and missed this post. You have made my day I feel good.

Bless you.

Nat, I want to give you a bouquet of native flowers and shrubs , because you have such insights into your behaviour and are able to take on the suggestions of others.

I think your self awareness, is such an admirable trait.

On some days if I took out all the negatives in my writing it would be very very short.

I also like the way you promote my inner critic thread!!

Quirky

Hi everyone,

Mary I am stoked that the post made you feel good. I think most of us here forget at times that people are reading and that something you write can be significant for someone else. Your posts are helpful to me.

Quirky I recommend your threads often because I gain so much reading them. Questions are fascinating.

Congratulations Paul!

Just saw your new badge and life membership is a massive achievement. Very well deserved.

On top of replying to posts, you're always making sure the forums are a welcoming place. You check in with the cafe and social areas regularly, and making sure people are acknowledged and included.

I'm not sure how to express how much I appreciate this except to say I am thankful for all you give of yourself to this community.
