Hi Ann55,

Welcome to the Forums! We’re glad you’ve found us here. It’s great that you’re seeking some support groups. While we can’t recommend specific local services due to anonymity, we can provide some resources to help point you in the right direction. Qlife has a great directory of LGBTIQA+ organisations and services: https://qlife.org.au/resources/directory. For a further discussion, you can also reach them on 1800 184 527 or via webchat.

In the meantime, you are also more than welcome to jump in to any other relevant threads here on the Forums, too. While it is not in-person, it is a good way to connect and gain support from others.

We wish you all the best in finding some support groups! We are here for you whenever you want to chat.

Kind regards
Sophie M

Hey Ann55,

Thank you so much for reaching out to us, welcome to the forums.

Ooh yes, good question. I'll echo everything that Sophie_M has said regarding resources and finding threads to chat with people on here, and I'll also suggest Facebook as a place to source local groups for LGBTQIA+ people. There may also be clubs, bars, or queer-friendly spaces (cafes, restaurants, libraries) in your area that you would be able to find either on Facebook or with a quick Google search.

I hope this helps!

All the best, SB
