I have been offered a position at work but I have to do overnight travel a few times a year.
My partner doesnt like to travel for work and when I said I really want to give this position a go he says thats the difference between u and I, I dont want to go away whereas you cant wait to.
Is he being fair? Or am I being selfish by wanting to do this job?
We have a 12 year old and 16 year old

Hello Shesaleo
I can see how confusing this is for you. Maybe trying to look at actual reasons why your partner doesn't want you to work away. Are they worried that you leave them or find someone else? Or maybe they're worried about the kids and think they might not handle it? It could help to discuss it further with your partner and find practical solutions for both of you to feel better about it.
It's not selfish to take a better job that is a good fit for you. Your kids aren't small any more and everyone will benefit from extra pay.
I hope that it'll help a little bit to clear things up and see how it goes
