problems with home

Hey y'all sorry if my spelling is a bit wrong or if my grammar is messed up also sorry if somethings don't make sense. So at home my dad keeps yelling at me for no reason and I know that it sounds like a minor problem but its gotten to the point where I've been scared to ask for help and when I get a bad grade/have overdue homework. I've been scared for when I get homework because my memory is bad so I forget to do it so my dad yells at me and threatens to throw me out of the house or take all my things while I'm not home and throw them onto the streets. He's yelled at me so much so now I've got such a soft heart so I sometimes take it seriously and then I just start to cry. At this point I don't feel safe in my own home and I'm always scared to come home after school and stuff and at this point I'm just looking for advice because I don't know what to do anymore.

I grew up in a very similar situation - so first things first just know you definitely' aren't alone. Is there potentially a school guidance counsellor available for you to talk to at all? Siblings or mother?

Hello Dear Guest,

A very warm and caring welcome to the forums…back in my time not much yelling but more so corporal punishment, which was not looked down on in my earlier childhood….now it’s considered a crime…

I can relate to your fear of going home…and I’m saddened to hear this….

Guest, here is a number and web page to Kids helpline…https://kidshelpline.com.au/…1800 55 1800…which is a free online help and counselling service for children….if you have access to a phone or Internet…please try to give them a ring and have a talk with them, about what’s happening in your life at home and how you’re feel scared….it’s fully confidential between you and the counsellor you talk to..(.if you feel up it) another thing you might be able to do is to talk to your teacher or a close family member that you trust…(uncle, Aunty)…Can you talk to your mum about how scared your getting to even come home from school?…

Please talk here whenever you feel to, we are here to help support you the best we can…l

Grandy..

I also grew up in similar ways,

The school counsellors don't really listen and my mum always takes my dads side with everything and my siblings live pretty far away and I can't get in contact with them
