Moving away

Hi, since having children the grandparents have been overbearing such as overstepping, overbearing, controlling, undermining our parenting, being clingy etc. We all live nearby and it's negatively affecting my mental health being in close proximity to them. We have spoken to them about boundaries, visits etc to no avail. It's been happening for many years (our eldest is 11) and I have had enough. We would like to move away and just wondering if anyone else has been in a similar situation and moved either interstate or 30 mins away (to make it harder for drop ins etc). Given the age of our children moving interstate would be a big deal. Staying but relocating within our current city would be better but is it enough? Thank you for your help.

Hi , and yeah, do l hear you. We moved 3hrs away back when, that seemed to do the trick. Earlier on we were interstate and that one back fired big time bc they'd come up and live with us 3 wks a time so watch that.

Depends on their age to mine were in their 60s back then and 3hrs slowed down the visits but no way stopped it. l'd imagine if your cities big, like Melbourne or something, even the other side though could do the trick.l know say that's only about an hr with all the free ways but still, lot of hassle.

Most families need their space and we all def need to be running our family our way it's happier and healthier .

Good luck anyway
