Hi Everyone
I am wondering if you can relate to these words? These words came to me one day, some time ago, when i was in a depressed state. Somehow these words explained a lot to me about CPTSD.
I look forward to knowing your thoughts.

Hi again,
I can only guess it is a statement about a poor relationship with someone else. But rather than guess CKS can you elaborate more?

Hi CKS,
I believe I'm condemned to a life that's not my own. So, i end up with a bipolar diagnosis, am put on a community treatment order and medicated against my will. That wouldn't be my life if I got to choose.
I would choose a drug free life ( i appreciate drugs helping others though).
So yeah I suppose I'm condemned to a life that's not my own.

Hi White Knight
Yes to me these words describe most of my life to a tee. When i came to know that my childhood trauma caused me to lose my entire persona,i realised i was not living the life of the person i was born to be. And the fact that it was not of my own choosing i believe the word 'condemned' to be more than. And how we suffer from such cruel behaviours and symptoms from CPTSD, to me affiliate with condemned also... from a punishment perspective if you know what I mean. I believe I am going to call my book 'Condemned to a Life Not Your Own'

Hi MM
Yes you are correct... but mine comes from a CPTSD perspective not Bipolar. But at the end of the day we are living a life not of our own choice.
May god bless our souls.

I can relate. I feel like I'm part of someone else's life in which my job is to hold it all together. I've also described it as a rodeo clown.
