Bullying has triggered my ptsd

I haven't posted on here before so I'm a little shy, but I need some extra support. Last night I wasn't abe to sleep at all ...for around 2 weeks I have been receiving very abusive, degrading, downright abhorrent txts from 2 women I used to consider 2 of my closest friends..I haven't responded and I've tried blocking them but it hasn't worked..last night I received the most graphic, deliberately triggering txts yet. Best friends make the worst enemies. I am struggling with it...their words continue to go round and around in my head...I'm finding it hard not to question myself. Some days I get 20 txts at a time. I don't know what to do 😞

Hi cat,

Some people can be so nasty!

I think the first thing to do is don't read those texts and turn off your phone. If you have anyone close to you, you can ask them to delete them for you if you don't want to look.

It sounds like you're trying not to be confrontational so for now, it may be easier for you to just change your number at least temporarily.

You sound like a very intelligent person and nobody deserves this kind of treatment. You also mentioned PTSD in your thread title. Are you currently seeing any doctors who you could mention these incidents to? I'd also highly recommend giving the BeyondBlue 24/7 support line a call on 1300 22 4636. They can be very helpful if you want to talk to someone just to let go of your thoughts, or even for some guidance.

I hope to hear from you again cat. We'd love to keep supporting you as long as you need.

James
