Hello everyone,
I don't really know what to say.
I'm not looking for advice, I'm just looking for a place to say something/anything.
You may have read some of my other posts, but the summary of me is: 24 years old, suffered from depression a few times in my life, suicidal thoughts each time, currently dealing with a relationship breakdown two months ago and symptoms of borderline personality disorder, and the depression and anxiety's come back as a result.
I don't know what keeps tripping me up but I constantly land back at the bottom of this mountain.
I've been writing poems, here's one because I don't know what else to say. I hope it's not too dark.
Steady drums
He cowers among shadows in a sacred hall,
Beneath the gaze of saints gone by,
Who condemn his long unrelenting fall
Into cold black dreams where his demons fly.
Day brings back the spindly claws
Of imps that crawl from beneath his bed;
they hook like leeches into all his flaws
and drink through fangs until they are fed.
Gorging and gurgling - the demons grow bold
And spin bloody chambers around his heart
Which beats like a drum dressed in gold,
Sold to the devil who will never depart.
The chambers burst and hellhounds are loose
They rage inside and reek abuse.
The drums beat louder and echo in his head
They rupture his veins until he is bled.
He is only a man with a dying light,
A candle which burns yet flickers with fight,
“What more do you want?” he cries aloud,
“Your hope; your dreams.” The man is cowed.
And yet while the flame can still flicker,
And his lips still quiver, gasping for life,
The drums will beat no slower, no quicker,
Until he is safe from this strife.

Aaaaargh I did not need this stress.
So I bought an apartment off the plan a couple of years ago and knew the risks involved in terms of developers sometimes changing the place significantly etc. There's always a get-out clause though for the purchaser, so if they change the landsize by more than 5%, you can walk away with your deposit plus part of the interest earned.
I never thought it would happen to me.
I did my presettlement inspection today. Everything looks lovely inside (except they put a bathtub in when I requested to not have a bathtub...) but then walked into my courtyard. It was advertised as 39square metres. They shaved off 9 of that so now it's only 30 square metres. It makes a huge difference visually because they cut out the grass that used to run from the paved section to the fence.
So the total land size has decreased by 8% and I'm allowed to rescind. HOWEVER, I only get half the interest along with the deposit, and the market in the area has really dried up. Not to mention prices have increased in the last 2 years.
Now, I've asked for the bank to send me the valuation and I have until Tuesday to decide whether to keep or rescind the contract. So I have everything in place to get the info I need to make an informed decision but...I just didn't need this to happen 😞 😞
Sorry. rant over.

Hi James,
I wouldn't know the first thing about buying properties but that sure does sound dodgy. Shaving off 9square metres? Whoa...dodgy.
No wonder you're fuming. Not only did they mislead you, you're losing money on this! Ugh, it's like haemorrhaging money. Rant justified.

Eurgh James is feeling flat.
He tried coming out of his shell again and within a day came face to face with his attachment issues.
It's a real blow to basically have no preparation for this because I keep forgetting how strong it is.
Not sure how good my distraction techniques will be over the next half week, but I will try.

Dear James~
I'm not sure why you're sad, I guess the reason doesn't matter for me to talk to you. We can't always prepare - well at least I can't.
No advice - just sympathy.
I guess its is distraction time - start a rumor Dottie is tone deaf (I'd believe it) , then stand back and watch the fireworks. Everybody will jump to her defense.
Seriously -if you don't mind my asking - what do you normally do for distraction?

Hello Walrus,
Thanks for replying. I'm more sad at not receiving a reply (not on these forums - elsewhere), angry at being ignored (not sure if I'm actually being ignored or not), frustrated with myself for not knowing how to be myself (admittedly, not really my fault) and just a mixture of all of those for forgetting that I need to make sure I'm in the right supportive place when I try to come out of my shell.
Perhaps you can be a walrus and I can be a hermit crab?
Anyway.
I have an AFL game (Swans vs Collingwood) to go to with my friends tonight so hopefully that will serve as a distraction. Before then, I need to go buy a chair from someone to move to my new place. I know I'll still be obsessing, but I'm going to try and...no, I probably won't do that actually. I will try and wait a minute before checking my phone obsessively. I think I'm going at every 20 seconds right now, so a minute will be an improvement.
Then, perhaps I might even consider a minute and four seconds. But definitely not a minute five seconds - that'd be too radical!

Hello Hermit Crab James,
You do sound like you're feeling very "blah." Sort of neither here nor there. I sometimes get like that too but I'm not sure if it's in the same way as you. But I can empathise on a basic level.
Staying inside your shell must be very appealing at times.
Stick your head out and sometimes an unexpected gust of wind knocks you about a bit, huh? Rough stuff.
Feeling invisible, ignored or rejected hurts and totally blows. If it helps, we hear your cry and see your head poking out of your crab shell.
Hopefully your AFL game proves to be a decent distraction tonight. If that fails, well, rumour mill Croix had another suggestion 😊

That one's a trouble maker. Stay away. I hear the walrus comes out during new moon. A friend of a friend told me that.
But in all honesty, thanks for the reply. I hope you are doing relatively okay, though I think I understand how hard it can be when you're just generally struggling.

Hi James,
Aw don't mention it. We all try our best to there for each other.
Just discovered Evynne Hollens' Rise Up.
The lyrics resonated a lot with me and I feel it could resonate with a lot of people going through a rough time. I'm not usually big on lyrics- the tune comes first and foremost for me personally but I related a lot to those particular lyrics.

P.S. Glad the rumour mill is alive and kickin' haha.

Hey Hermie the Crab! (and fellow Jamesonian's)
Just responding to your obsessive time concerns. It might be an idea to set notifications on your phone every 1 min 4 sec's so you don't go over to 1 min 5. How on earth did you get thru a game of AFL?! lol
Sigh...it's nice to laugh per chance to dream (wet my pants)
Seriously though, no not really! Ah ha ha...
If we crossed a Crab, Walrus, Dot and an M16 wielding mum, (and a new moon) what would we get? Hmm...
