Hello my friend
I am sorry to make you cry but hope that they were good tears and not sad tears. I am here for you and you do make such a positive impact here and I have read alot of how you support others and it is so wonderful that even with your own pain and tears you reach out to others. That is the sign of a good human Mark.
I hope that the next surgery means something positive, i hope so. Surgery is alot for the body and mind so I wish you all the best with this journey too.
The sun is out today and while it is freezing I am hoping to get out and enjoy some of that warmth in my bones. I have a really cute little pot of succulents that has just been thriving in all this wet weather and it looks so sweet sitting at my back door, I just love it when the sun hits it and all the little water drops sparkle.
Do you have anything planned for the weekend?
Chat soon my friend
Hugs hugs hugs

Hey Mark
Sorry for being off the grid for the past few days, bit on my plate atm.
That is so weird that the stray you have adopted was the neighbours..why did they not take more care of bubbles....that is really sad. But...a great outcome for you..how could they have not seen it running around, maybe they did and that cheeky cat has been eating two meals and having two families....sounds like a cat doesn't it...lol...glad that it has all worked out though, you love that cat.
The garden sounds like you are getting all your winter veg sorted, I really am so jealous and really have to think about how I am going to get a garden going.....I cannot wait to hear how those leeks come along...I used to make a ripper egg and bacon pie that had leeks in it..that reminds me I could make that for the kids....
The new profile pic is awesome, great pic....
Hope you are good today, I am so looking forward to the 9th of June with the return to school, I am just managing to drag my son out of bed now..school started 29 minutes ago, I am so over it now Mark, it just upsets me.
Once again I am sorry for the tardy reply....hugs to you Mark xx

Hi Sarah I am so sorry that you have a lot going on.You only have to reply when you can.I know you are busy but is lovely when you do msg me and I get so excited when I get a reply from you.
This morning I mixed some concrete for the footings for my block wall.I will be able to lay the blocks on top in a few days.
The story with the cat is he didn' want it anymore and stopped feeding it that is why it was at my door hungry.I didn't think that neighbour would have owned her as he has two rotweilers that bark at everything.I asked the other neighbours and they sort it was a stray.Their is a lot of strays around here.Bubbles original name was Sherman.
That profile photo is of my dads bike that he rode in the 1940s and 1950s.He did many trips all over Australia on it with his mates.I had plans of going around Australia on my bike one day but I don't think I will be able to after my surgery.
I wish I could help you with your garden I am really getting inspired making my new one.I can' wait to be able to plant it out.
I know how hard it is with the kids home and trying to home school them.I have my daughter back at school and my son starts next week so I hope that goes all good for him.I just think of the reason they did close schools was to stop the spread of the virus and save lives. We seem to be so lucky to have it under control at the moment and hopefully it stays that way.
I am here if you ever need to talk and I hope you can find some time for yourself.
Tale care,
Your friend,
Mark.

Hey Mark
That is very sweet of you to understand that I do have a bit going on, however, I do love being here and chatting to people but also to my long time friends like you. I have a few balls in the air at the moment and some of them are all falling on my head at once...I will be ok and I know that it is just getting through and remembering to take some time for me as well as to reach out too, which I do tend to forget..or not address...which is probably more like it to be honest.
You sure have alot keeping you busy which is great, the block wall sounds full on but exciting at the same time, you will have to tell me about the plans for that.
Sherman...ummm nooo...lol..I think bubbles is a much more fitting name, I am just so happy for you that you are able to keep him and that he has found care with you. She is like your best friend as my cats are mine and I just could not imagine them being unfed or being strays...just so sad. Well she has love and food with you now so that is all that matters.
WOW your dad was lucky to have such a stunning bike and going around Australia on it sounds awesome. I am sorry that your surgery may impact your future travel plans, that is really upsetting but hopefully you can tweak it a bit and instead of on bike you can perhaps to it with a cheap caravan or something...that is what I would love to do..just stop and go when I find somewhere that i love and to see this amazing country of ours.
That would be so fun if I had a garden buddy to push me to start and to get the ball rolling and to help me to plant and to grow food, I just love the idea of being able to do that I am really going to think hard about how I can make that happen, it would be so cool if we could build a garden.
JUNE 9..roll on JUNE 9...school is back and I will be so excited that the kids will have some normality back, their friends back and just some new faces and out of the house...I am at least able to come to work some days but they are essentially at home all the time which is really tough. The end of lockdown schooling is in sight and I am really happy about that.
Hope today is a good one for you, it is raining and cold here in Melbourne so an inside day for us here.

Hi Sarah i am sorry you are struggling with some things at the moment.I think we have learnt to appreciate the teachers a lot more after trying to home school them ourselves.I am a bit anxious about sending my son back to school it is going to be like restarting over with him and their is going to be changes and dont know how he will handle that.I havent heard what the procedure will be dropping him off.I use wak him to the classroom and put his lunchbox in the fridge and full out his communication book and his teacher or teacher aid would take him by the hand.It probably be all different on monday.
I couldnt think of anything better then helping you with your garden. It would be nice to use my life learnt skills and knowledge and feel useful again.
Yesterday i went for a ride on my motorbike just through some small country towns the otherside here.I did about 250kms and seemed really busy on the roads.
I will let the footings dry out and then lay the blocks on top of it next week and i will dig it out and put an ag drain in so it has good drainage.
I would love that bike in my profile picture in my collection.Their worth a pretty penny these days if you can find one.A very pretty bike to look at.
I feel sorry for bubbles that her owner didnt want her anymore and he just hoped she would find a new home.I dont think she liked the two rottweilers he had one barks at everything all the time.
I am having good steady rain here at the moment. It is a bit cooler here.
I hope you have a great day if you can.Big hugs from me.
Take care,
Your friend,
Mark.

..you could not be more right Mark, those teachers have a whole new level of respect in my view. I understand though it is much harder teaching your own children but I have no idea how they manage all the needs of each child and to have the class in order as they do. They get huge high 5's from me!
I hope that you are able to maintain some level of routine for your son at drop off, not only for his happiness but for you too, there is nothing worse than leaving your child in a state when they are upset and all out of sorts and not knowing if they are ok. I am sure that they should be able to come to some compromise for you so that you and your son have a good start to the day.
I believe it is time to plant cauliflowers?? I really love them so to be able to grow my own would be awesome. I do use them alot in cooking and love to include them in curries and things like that. It would be so cool to have a garden project and have you help me...maybe we have to do it though the BB social pages and we can start a winter garden group??
The day has kind of turned around here today, typical Melbourne, the sun is actually out now which is really nice. I am trying to get to go for a walk each night but there is always something that gets in the way...maybe tonight...lol
The bike really is special and I am sure anyone would love a piece like that in their bike collection, it really is so very cool.
Ok well I am off to get a coffee now, try to stay awake for the rest of the day here at work..lol
Hugs as always

Hi Sarah yes it is time to plant cauliflowers and all the Brassica family.I have minature cauliflowers in as well as brocoli and cabbages. You just need to use cabbage dust on them as this keeps the cabbage moth grubs out of them.Thats the white moth you see flying around the vegie garden.
I hope you manage to go for a walk.My father went to melbourne in 1954 for a wedding and i have got a postcard here that he sent his parents and on it it says typical melbourne weather today freezing cold this morning then rain and now the sun is out and my sleaves are rolled up.Your melbourne weather has been well known for a long time.
I am just cooking some grapes in the oven.I just tossed them in some olive oil and salt and paper and put on a tray and cook at 160 degrees for 30 minutes.I am going to have with ice cream but good on crackers with cheese.
Take care,
Your friend,
Mark.
