Crying and upset

My 31-year-old son, who has a partner and a 3-month-old son, is on bond but is going to court and believes he will go to jail. Pleading not guilty, he says he is on a suspended sentence, so he will go to jail. I feel sick and cry when I see him. He has to report twice a week, and it breaks my heart. He is pushing away the mother of his child because he believes she deserves better. And he is taking no drugs now but has this hanging over him .

Hello IrisLass,

I hear how heavy this feels for you, and I'm glad you felt able to write it here. Just having that space to put your thoughts down can help with the feelings, even if only for a short time.

I wonder if you have considered getting some support for yourself with this situation, as it sounds complex and heartbreaking. You deserve a space to share what is going on with you and your son.

I am starting a support group, but at the moment, I'm in so much pain. I don't understand, as he now says they love each other but have no future together, so she is talking to other people. Even though they sleep in the same bed, they haven't really been together for a while. I feel so brokenhearted, and if it were not for my faith, I feel I would be more depressed. They have a three-month-old son together. He has no car license, so taking them to appointments, I just don't know how I feel but stressed.
