Thank you for sharing this. We’re sorry for your loss, this must be really difficult, so please know that we're here, and that you've taken a really good step in sharing how you're feeling.
Are you connected with any bereavement or mental health support currently? We'd definitely recommend talking to Griefline about this, on 1300 845 745 (6am to midnight AEST every day). Please know that you're not alone with this, you can call the Beyond Blue helpline at any time, on 1300 22 4636. They can help you talk this through and will also be able to help you plan what's next so that you have that support in place.
We hope you're able to be kind to yourself through this, as you've been so kind in sharing your experience here. You never know how your story might help someone else, so do feel free to share more if you're comfortable to. Some of the other community members may be able to relate to what you're going through, and might be along soon to share their kindness and understanding, here on your thread.
Kind regards,
Sophie M

Hello there and welcome to the beyond blue forums.
So sad and sorry to hear about the death of your father. It sounds as though you had a very special relationship with him and demonstrated by the fact that you spent that time with him. As petal22 said ... I am sure he appreciated your being there.
In relation to healing or moving on... There is no set period or timeframe. It is unique to all of us. And we each have to work out our own path forward. You could talk to friends and family or even a professional about the good times and the not so good. Or the things you and he liked to do. Or do something in his name?
And if it helps to write about him here that is another possibility. Know that we are listening to you.
