Just lost my beautiful mum to Ovarian cancer

Lalune89

I just recently lost my beautiful mum to ovarian cancer, and I am devastated. She is my best friend. She is only 58 and the most sweetest, kindest and selfless person I know. My heart feels broken and I feel so lost without her. I miss her so much and just want to see her again. I have been crying everyday, and don’t know if it will ever stop. I feel like there’s a hole in my heart where my mum used to be. I am just so heartbroken and this pain is so unbearable at times. I have no motivation to do anything and feel so empty without her.

Hi Lalune a few years ago I to lost my mum to ovarian cancer and know what it is like to lose someone to this disease.Their was a big hole left and always something missing in my life. With time it did get better slowly. It takes time to grieve and we all grieve in are own way and at our own pace.Give yourself time and remember the beautiful mum you had.

Hi LaLune89,

Welcome to the forums, and thank you for sharing here. We're sorry to hear of your loss. She sounds like an amazing person, and this must be an incredibly difficult time.

Are you connected with any bereavement support currently? In case it's useful you can find advice and directories on the Beyond Blue website here. We'd highly recommend talking to Griefline, on 1300 845 745 (6am to midnight AEST every day).

Please know that you're not alone with this, you can call the Beyond Blue helpline at any time, on 1300 22 4636. They can help you talk this through and will also be able to help you plan what's next so that you have that support in place.

We hope you're able to be kind to yourself through this, as you've been so kind in sharing your experience here. We hope it brings you some comfort to know that other community members like Matchy69 have so much kindness and understanding. Please feel free to keep sharing whenever you feel comfortable.

Kind regards,

Sophie M
