Hi, welcome

Firstly I'm very sorry for your loss. Grief, in terms of length, intensity and recurrence is a personal thing so how you experience it- there is no "wrong" way.

I lost my brother to suicide in 1978, uncle the same way in 2001 and my lively dad's passing in 1992. All rocked my world. These events and others grieving around me, plus 3 relationship splits all over 7 years duration has resulted in some ideas of how to cope.

1. distraction is a now natural remedy I use a lot.

Google- Beyondblue topic distraction and variety

2. channeling- my neighbour that lost his son grew a rose garden from cuttings of his sons roses.

3. Legacy. To live your life in honour of your passed relative. E.g. my father helped the poor. I'm helping the mentally ill in his honour.

4. Discussion. Take advantage of visitors that knew them. Ask them of memories they have of their lives

5. Professional grief counselling. It can really help.

I hope that helps. Repost anytime.
