Noticing some are having problems with the new forum and thought I would share a little. I also understand (and have some of) the frustrations many of you will have. I thought I would add a little thread here for people to share their tips to make things easier.
I leave the default sort setting from old to new. I will go down to the bottom of the first page, and then click on the button that is for the last page to get to the latest post/reply. This saves me from having to check sort order or dates or ...
PS. If you want to add other text in addition to the tip, somehow highlight the tip in bold.

If you have accidentally Cancelled the post you were writing, then you will lose what you typed.
If you want to look at another page & return to what you were typing your 'content will be autosaved' - the website is doing that every 45 secs to a minute while you are typing. The message beneath the text box updates the time it was last auto-saved.
So when you return, if you have not posted in another Discussion, when you open a text box you will see the message above it, saying "Your Content was last auto-saved at [time]. Load or Discard".
Click on the word 'Load' itself.
I tried & could not 'Load' - not even available, text I'd written here into another reply somewhere else.
When I returned here, I could 'Load' what I'd written again. If I had written something else somewhere else the first lot would not have been auto-saved anymore, only the post you are currently typing.
I am not sure I can make it clearer. It gets complicated when I think how people might be trying to use these new features. I do, I sit here trying to imagine what you might be doing.
I'm not sure if you are using your phone or what.. that makes it a little more difficult to understand what's happening.
Hope this helps.
Warmly,
mmMekitty

Hi quirky, I'm finding that too - I cant see all the individual headings anymore like we used to, so I have to scroll through each individual discussion to see whether anyone has replied to them. Sometimes I manage to click on last post in my discussion list, but other times this doesn't work and I have to scroll right through.

Hi mmKitty,
With respect to cancelling / loading replies etc. I have on occasion write my replies external to the forum. If I have to go back one page to read something (else) I dn not have to worry about losing anything. The worst can happen on a train going into central station and lost internet connection. Ding! Has happened to me.
So all I have to do is when I am ready is to copy and paste the text.

Hi,
Yes I have the same issue. I’m worried that I’m missing old posts that I’ve responded too because they’re not rising to the top like ‘Our Threads’. This is a bummer for me because I don’t want to miss anyone 😥😥
It’s also not practical for me to click on every single thread I’ve posted on to see if there’s a reply to me either.
Yep, I have all my notifications enabled. It’s still buggy for me unfortunately.

Dear RT and all~
Yes, I've exactly the same concerns about those posters I've been trying ot support, and also problems with notifications. Not a good combination.

Your Profile Page (Profile > Profile) is essentially the old 'MyThreads' which will list any new replies from anyone (newest first) to threads you have made comment (a click in the blue box beside the thread will jump to unread replies - the number tells you how many), but you are correct that no reply/activity means no notification or a redundant thread. Don't forget you will also see a number in the Notifications icon as a heads up for activity, summoning your attention!
It might be handy to archive certain threads for future reference on your own device, or you could search for keywords to locate and make a generic comment to keep it 'current'.

But the notifications only tell me if someone has hit the support button on something I've said and I find it a nuisance. I can go to my settings and see the conversations I follow but I still have to scroll through each one to see if there's a new post or not.
I also don't know how to get rid of a discussion I no longer want to follow from my settings.
I hate, hate, hate that my very first post gets read by people every time they go on my thread. I detest all my conversations being on one page. I find both of these things an appalling lack of privacy. It astounds me that BB did not think of the effect on people.

We can hear you're having some similar experiences with notifications not working how we'd hope. We're looking into this issue, and appreciate you sharing and connecting about this. We're keeping our team updated about this so that they can keep working on it and figuring it out.
We also want to acknowledge your concerns about privacy, Hanna3, and let you know that we hear you and are sharing this feedback with the team. Thanks for also sharing your feelings around old posts being visible at the top of your discussions, too.
We want to share a big thank you to everyone on this thread; smallwolf, quirkywords, tranzcrybe, Paw Prints, demonblaster, geoff, sbella and Summer Rose. We think it's so good that you're here sharing thoughts, tips and feedback as you move through the new Forums. It's so appreciated by us, and we're sure it will be by the wider community who may be popping in here to keep learning with you, too.
Kind regards,
Sophie M
