Hi all,
This discussion is a space for all members to share suggestions and ideas to improve the Forums. This can be anything. Navigation, notifications, topics and themes, moderation, community rules, or something else!
We'd love to hear about what you think we can do better. We are really grateful to everyone who has contributed their ideas already, and we're always keen to hear more.
Kind regards,
Sophie M

Thanks for keeping us up to date with the issues we’re having with changing profile picture/avatar. Work is ongoing to fix this, it’s not resolved yet but we are working on it, and we couldn’t have done so without people letting us know about it so thank you.
We’ll keep you posted on our progress here on this thread.
Kind regards,
Sophie M

Welcome to the Forums. Thanks for sharing this question here, it’s something a few people have asked us about, so you’re not alone with this issue.
There are two main ways to see replies; you can see replies to other people’s posts on all the discussions on the Forums, or you can see replies to your own posts in the Notifications page.
To see replies to other people’s posts, go to All Discussions, or to any of the topics you’re interested in, such as Welcome and orientation. You will see a page full of discussions, and in the bottom right of each you can view the number of replies people have contributed – this is not a button you can click, it’s just a bit of information before you get to the Discussion itself. To see the discussion and all of it’s replies, hit the discussion title. Scroll down and you’ll be able to see all of the replies. You may need to navigate through the page numbers at the bottom to get to the latest one.
To see replies to your own posts, you may be able to use the “Notifications” button in the top right, however some people have told us this isn’t working for them. If nothing displays in your notification page, you can see replies to your posts by visiting the discussions you’ve started or participated in. You can see a full list of these privately in your profile. Click Profile in the top right, or use this link (which is private and will only work for you): https://forums.beyondblue.org.au/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/46622
Another thing that could be helpful is getting to know the Forums navigation a bit better. We’d recommend having a look at our Learn how to use the Beyond Blue Forums video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4RSIsrugkIQ
We hope that’s helpful, Panthora. 😊
Kind regards,
Sophie M

Thanks for this suggestion. We think it would be really good to have an area for people to discuss addiction. We’re planning some improvements to how topics work here on the Forums, so we’ll keep this suggestion on the table as we work through it.
Kind regards,
Sophie M

Thank you, Sophie_M for keeping us informed.
I like David's suggestion, too. Addictions & the effects of addictions can be wide & deep.
Well, I now know it's not only me who has had problems trying to change my profile picture. I wanted to temporarily change it for Easter.
I would like, more than before, now my memory has been becoming so slack, to have a list of the discussions I've been most recently contributing to, because, (aside from the BB Social Zone, I forget where I had posted yesterday. I would like a list of the discussions, who began them, & where they are to be found. I don't need a discussion listed more than one per day, even though I might have posted there a few times.
The list in my profile page isn't always clear to me when someone has posted; the number at the side does not always change, or I can't remember what the number was yesterday, so I can't tell if it has changed, which would alert me to the fact that someone has posted, if it does change.
I hope work is still going on to fix the inaccurate character count problem.
Thanks again for all the effort being put into making thiese forums practical & easy to use.
Hugzies

Hi David35,
More categories are always being thought of and in the works; but I thought I'd recommend a couple of great resources as well in the meantime:

Hello mmMekitty,
The number next to each thread on your profile page changes whenever someone posts to that page... once you have read a post the counter reduces by one for each read post... your own posts don't alter the counter... I found it helpful to go through my list & open each thread & in the option button at the top of the page select "mark topic as read" that resets the counter to zero making it easier to keep track from there...
I hope that helps
