Years of depression and losing hope

Hi all,

I am 23 and have been suffering from depression for many years, pretty much all my life. Sometimes i am tired of trying anymore and working hard to overcome it. My mind just tells me I won’t get better. Seen therapists and all and have taken meds too. Therapy helps but I get better for a while and fall back into deep depression again. I just feel hopeless about things ever changing. No friends or family who understand or can support me. I feel like I need more support than I currently have. Anyone feel so low before? Like your mind is telling you that nothing will work and you wont ever get better? What can I do?

thanks in advance

Hey Never

Like your name says mate. We all have our reasons for coming here and letting our hearts out, and for some its never easy admitting a problem, I know I was 1 of them.Big guy no worries prior to 2012 then in 1 stupid accident bang. But being able to put it down and listen to others is cathartic and because so many of us have gone through the same thing we can all relate to someone, which means no one is alone, right now i feel like there is a crushing weight on my chest and my anxiety for the futures out the door. But being able to assist someone with my experiences, just as youve been doing helps.

Your last paragraph about nothing will work and you wont ever get better, well mate thats my life, 19 operations and Im worse now than i was before the surgery, and isnt that depressing, but im still here still strong, and I will be stuffed if that black dog will get me.

Strength in numbers your not alone.

Thank you Wraith for your kind words. wow 19 operations! That’s a lot. Going on this forum has really helped me see I am not alone in my struggles, although everyone’s story is different.
