Hello
I am wanting to know if anyone else feels just worthless. And what they did about that feeling that creeps inside of you.
Thanks

Hey STS I am feeling a little better, just thought that I would read a bit on Beyond Blue, before going to sleep.
Anyway I wanted to tell you a joke, because I thought you may like it...... my son just told it to me. I didn't get it at first. Here it is for you STS. Though I am concerned you may think I am a pub/ drinking sort of person but I am not, I just liked the play on words in this joke.
A toothless termite walked into a pub..... And asked.....is the bar tender here.
Good night then xxx

Hi Shelley Anne,
I'am glad you felt a little better before going to sleep, your joke made me laugh I haven't heard that one before.
If I can laugh at least once a day every day I'd be a happy man, thank you for that.

Hi everyone - I've been reading through this thread and there's so much I relate to in what you've all been saying. Thank you for sharing it and I hope you don't mind me joining in.
I especially relate to the 'over-thinking' thing. At the moment I'm trying hard to stop thinking, or at least slow down. I've got a lot of distressing stuff going on at work and it's consuming my mind. I don't really feel depressed, at least I don't think I do. I don't normally think I have anxiety but at the moment I feel constantly anxious and I keep trying to work things out - scenarios, daydreams, plans, what ifs, round and round. It's exhausting.
I have a lovely homelife but can't appreciate it properly at the moment. Can't turn my mind off. I just want some peace in my head. I guess that's what we all want.
Very best wishes to you all - it helps just to share a bit eh?

Hi Kazzl,
Welcome, and all who post on this thread i hope you have/or had a good day.
I agree it is good thing to share stuff especially on Beyondblue there is the connection without prejudice .
Many people seem to over think things I guess it worries some and not others, when i was working in my chosen occupation which i have since given up i over thought everything way to much to the point of taking my work home with me every day which for me was not a good thing to do as I worked shift work and thinking to much and not getting enough sound sleep was so unhealthy, trying and I was exhausted every day. Others who carried out the same type of work seem to leave the work at work and picked it up the next day and they seem to cope very well.I know this is not possible in all cases but does it really make a huge difference to the end result if you worry yourself sick at home about these things?
Do you have things to do in you private life that you enjoy that doesn't require to much thinking? Try and find the off button for your mind and start to enjoy and appreciate your lovely homelife again. You can do it.

Hiya STS. Thank you so much for your reply. I do have things at home that I use for distraction but lately it's such an effort to get my mind on them and off work. I guess effort is the thing. It is possible, just really hard, a constant battle in my mind. I spent many years switching off with alcohol till the off switch for that broke and drinking took over my life. I went through a very difficult time getting sober. But at least I did. Finding distractions and fellow travellers to share experiences with was critical to that. I just have to convince myself that if I can get through that I can get through this.
It's so good to unload with like-minded people. Thank you and I hope you're travelling well today.

Hey Kaz,
I'am usually outside during the day not sitting by the laptop but today doing things which need doing! I agree that a fellowship of like minded people can be so helpful in the battle with alcohol and drugs, good on you for beating the alcohol beast, I have been clean and sober for years now and luv it, if we can change that issue we must be able to change other areas in our lives.
Thank you for sharing your story gave me to strength to share some of mine.

Hey STS and Kazzl, I am glad you joined in on this conversation.
It does feel exhausting all that stuff going around and around in your head, and all you really want is a bit of respite, a bit of calmness in your mind. Sometimes I write out things, in hope it will clear my thoughts. Like at the moment, my thoughts are many.
Hey I am glad STS, Truly glad it brought you some happiness, that joke. Personally I don't laugh much, just smile or maybe I just laugh on the inside. Because not much sound comes out of my mouth....
I was wondering if both of you verbally speak to other people much? I know it may be a weird question. It is just, I have heard of people just verbally speaking out whatever comes to their mind to anyone that will listen. Me.... well I hardly speak at all, I just listen, and observe the person's ,like body language.
Well I am not sure where that thought was actually heading, but never mind.....
And kazzl that "killer thread" I think the title is, will I find it fun and it does help somehow. Have you discovered that thread STS? I think it is the community forum, started by gruffurd, or Rob I believe his real name is.
