Worthless

Hello

I am wanting to know if anyone else feels just worthless. And what they did about that feeling that creeps inside of you.

Thanks

Hey STS

Are you on a farm or something? Yeah little lambs are pretty cute. I have hand fed one with a bottle once. So what do you actually do to raise a lamb.? Do you have other animals at all?

And yeah, I do like the way the hairdresser cut my hair, and she was friendly.

Have a good day, tomorrow

Hugs

The personal bully, it really sounds like it is someone on the outside saying mean things and suggesting all sorts of harm. I think of it being like the little devil sitting on the shoulder in the cartoons. It comes from the inside though, I suspect that there is a genetic vulnerability given the family history. There are medications that help psychosis but for now I want to see if I can work out a way to live with it when it happens, because like the depression it comes and goes.

Seriously, favourite things are a way of balancing out that bully of mine. If I can get the balance right it is rather an achievement.

Hey chicken wings

That sounds like your dog, the one who is like a shadow,is giving you a reassuring hug, or something. I think the dog that I used to own actually sensed how I was feeling.

So did other relatives have to deal with the same issues as you, like did they have psychosis or there own personal bullies?

In my extended family, there are a few people who have panic attacks, depression, anxiety and issues with fear.

Hi Shelley Anne,

So hot here today, been doing some construction work on my home until it got to hot, inside in not much cooler,

I do have a flock of sheep which I care for to the best of my ability, I live on a small property and have a small dog which is my shadow most of the time, she gives me so much pleasure I just luv her to bits.

Like all animals they need looking after, I have found with sheep they really look after themselves if they have food to eat and water to drink, and also for them to be healthy they need all the correct minerals they require for good health, if they don't get all this from there food one needs to supplement  these things with stuff. worms can be a problem they need to be dealt with either with drugs or i my case i give them pink rock salt to lick they like it.

The type of sheep i have are fantastic mums they often have twins and triplets when they lamb it is a lot for them to look after but they do a good job.

The lambs are really a lot of work if there is a problem with there mum then you need to do what you did and that is bottle feed them, can be a handful if there is quite a number of them and they need 2 feeds a day.

I suppose what I'am saying here is when I am looking after the girls, rams and lambs I have a mission to do…so when I am occupied with the sheep or stuff that i enjoy I can manage to stay out of that part of my mind I don't want to visit, works for me so I keep at it.

Regardless of the sheep stuff writing on this thread is also another way for me to stay away from the dark side.

Cheers STS

Hi Shelley anne,

Yes, they had similar issues to me. Good news is that this is the worst of it and it will go away for a time.

Shaun the sheep has a point too, the distraction of sheep is absolutely a help. When I was living out of town I had a few to help keep the grass down and found to my surprise that they are quite good with emotions and would come and surround me and stay close when I was upset, I quite liked that.

Hey STS

Thanks for sharing the information about your little lambs, it was like a mini school lesson and I loved it. I am glad you have a little dog, pets well.... they can be good friends. I used to have a cat that was like a friend to me. Her name was Taomi. She was the only friend I had at one time.

I am guessing that it is a benefit to keep busy..... like not be idle? You know I failed yesterday with the " don't over think things " lesson. You just have to pick yourself up again, isn't that so??

Well hope you are having a good day today STS, and it is not too hot.

Hugs

That is so so cute Rob with the sheep doing that...It is like they are giving you a giant hug or something.

Hi Shelley,

If one could do one knows what is good for them all the time life would be so much better! personally i really over think most big and small things and it such a tiring thing i am so exhausted today the heat hasn't helped and it's only the start of summer.

The meds my GP prescribed has bowled me over maybe in time they will settle i hope so all i know is keep trying and life becomes better.

Today one needs to do something that is easy and pleasurable maybe that is what is needed hey it can only help.

You have a good day.

STS

Hi Shelley Anne,

Over tthinking is very common in depression. The best way for me to avoid it is to keep busy. Tbh it's in my nature to analyse and when I'm well I enjoy trying to understand things. The first time I remember doing this was pre school and I was sitting on the toilet. For some reason I thought I would turn into my older brother and I was wondering when it would happen. I think that's my earliest memory. So that's 55 years of over thinking. I don't think it'll go in a hurry.

Take care ,  Helen  x
