i’m 22 and over the past few weeks. I’ve just been feeling more and more sad.
I started a new job recently and yesterday I had a full on crying moment and couldn’t stop it only a few weeks before I was on the phone crying to my boyfriend about the same thing it was about nothing.
I just couldn’t stop crying and I can’t stop now. I haven’t felt this way before. I don’t know why I’m feeling this. Maybe it’s the anxiety of a new job or something else but yesterday was too much.
I felt bad asking for help cause I hate doing it and I felt bad for asking my boyfriend to come over even though he was busy. I felt guilty and I still do and I just wanna see him and I just want my parents I don’t want to do anything. My new job isn’t even that hard on me.
I just feel like I’m doing nothing and I don’t want to do anything. I don’t feel motivated to go to the gym. Go out. All I wanna do is lie in bed just stay there. I keep a record of how many times I’ve cried over the year and even though it’s 5 August I’ve already cried 18 times and yesterday with two of the worst times and I can’t tell you why I think it was just anxiety and change and losing a friend waking up earlier than I’m so used to and then having to drive 30 minutes and I don’t start work for an hour after that.
I feel useless and I feel tired and I don’t wanna do anything. I know I have a support system but I hate asking for it. I hate crying in front of my parents and my boyfriend and my friends. I hate being so easily emotional but I can’t help it. It’s who I am so I can’t change that I’ve tried, but I can’t. It’s too hard
does anyone else feel this way. i feel like i am the only one some day

The warmest of welcomes to you at such a challenging time in your life, a time you're trying to make so much sense of.
I think one of of the most challenging things in life can involve being 'a sensitive' or 'a feeler'. When you have the ability to sense/feel so much and so easily at times, it can create some emotional overload. One of the most important things to remember above all else is to not say 'What's wrong with me?' but instead wonder 'Okay, what is it that I'm actually feeling/sensing?'. Can definitely take a bit of detective work at times.
With a search for the right detective, a lot depends on what's going on. Is it physically/chemically based, such as with vitamin, mineral or some other chemical imbalance or deficiency? Is it mentally based, coming from belief systems, inner dialogue or something else in this category? Then there's the soulful angle, with a whole array of soulful challenges? Of course there's the combo of 2 or all 3 combined but personally I find things tend to stem from one of those categories in particular. Again, the question 'What kind of detective do I need? A physician, a dietician, a psychologist, a psychiatrist, a guidance counselor, someone who serves the soul, family, friends or someone else who can possibly detect what it is I'm feeling or sensing and can guide me in some way?
Understandably you're feeling exhausted of energy, while in many ways working your way through so much change. While a lot of energy can feel positively exciting, a depressing lack of it can definitely feel testing. With you mentioning having lost a friend, my heart goes out to you while I also wonder whether this has played a significant part in how you're feeling life right now. Sometimes we can underestimate the true impact regarding the loss of a support person or support system. I've found it can pay to ask at times 'How would I be managing if that support person/support system was in my life right now? Would I be managing a little better or differently?'. This can offer a better sense of why we can be struggling.
I've found sometimes it can be about really leaning into an emotion and seriously questioning 'What is this particular energy in motion or e-motion really about, that I can feel within me? What am I sensing?'. Sometimes the answer can be 'Complete overwhelm', something we've perhaps never had to face and manage before. Do you think the tears could be a form of venting some of the overwhelm and perhaps some grief you might be facing?❤️

hello and welcome to the forums.
And thank you for sharing part of your story here. I wonder what you would say if a friend told you the story you put here. I doubt that you would say it's nothing or a small thing?
I hope that you don't mind me asking a couple more questions...
You said your support group includes BF and parents. Have you been able to tell them what you are feeling? Or do you feel that you would start crying? And I get it that you don;t want to cry in front of them, but that also shows you are human.
Perhaps you could tell me a little about your job? I'm also sure the people you work with and for are satisfied if not happy with your being there?
Before I ask too many questions. I'm listening if you want to chat?

thank you for your warm welcome and thank you for replying. i have been able to talk to them openly about it and i’ve found it better. yesterday night on thursday was my best day this week without getting upset. i spoke with my dad and i was able to talk to him about it without getting up or stressed. i also was excited to tell my bf that today was a good day and that i wasn’t upset.
i’ve cried in front of them all before but it’s still new i think with my bf but ive been able
to do it more and express myself without needing to get upset anymore.
i work in trades so im up early everyday doing between 8,9 to 10 hrs depending on how much i want to do. i’ve been doing 8 hrs as thats all my body can handle at the moment. however with my work i also have one of my best friends so im happy to have her with me.
