So I notice lately that every week I seem to hit a massive downer on one day and I'll sleep for 15 hours!
I'm a uni student and yesterday I had an incident at a hostel I'd wanted to stay at and I bluntly told them their hostel was overpriced crap, they didn't even have soap and I was surprised they had toilet paper! I was told I didn't need to be rude, well I asked nicely last week and was brushed off twice.
I came home and was so depressed I slept 15 hours and missed classes today.
I'm frustrated at how strong my meds are yet weekly this happens and I'm so down.
Should I go tell my Psychiatrist? I'm not meant to see him for 3 weeks. He frustrates me because he doesn't say anything unless I ask a direct question.
Advice please.

Hi Debzmite,
Welcome to the forum and the community here.
Is it possible for you to see your psychiatrist before your next appointment?
It may be beneficial to write briefly how you feel each day and note when you start to feel really lousy or what seems to trigger you the mos. This information may assist your psychiatrist with the medication. You could also write up a list of things you want to discuss before you arrive at your next appointment.
If you don't mind me asking, do you see a psychologist as well to talk about how you are feeling and any issues you may have? Is there a counsellor at Uni you could speak to?
Next time you feel like you need to shut down and sleep all day, try pushing yourself out the door and go for a walk instead.
Cheers from Dools

Hi Debzmites,
It does help to keep a bit of a journal when things are tough, it might show a pattern emerging. If you don't mind me asking, do you have a certain day of the week where you feel like you can't cope? Like is it a Monday each week for instance or a Sunday?
If it is a certain day you may be able to investigate that witht he psychologist and find out if there is a reason behind it and change your pattern for that day.
November is a month where I become deeply depressed as in my mind it is a lead up to Christmas. Due to grief and loss I find Christmas very difficult. I need to find a way to deal with my depression in October, so November and December are not such an issue for me.
May I ask what you are studying at Uni? Do you have time for hobbies, interests, sports? Maybe not, but they are all very beneficial to us.
Regarding homework, there are plenty of self help books in libraries you could borrow or information on the internet. Ask the psychologist if they can recommend any sites that will benefit you.
Wishing you all the best, Dools
