Hello Indoor-cat, please let me welcome you to the forums.
Depression will bring on a feeling of what, unfortunately, you have said, because it can interfere with everything you try and do, it doesn't matter what it is, whether it's work, interest in doing anything, or perhaps losing the love of your life, they all add up and yes it's easy to start crying.
If you want to let how you are feeling then please don't hold back, because if you try and hold your emotion, it's only going to make you feel worse.
We do feel your pain and know what it's like, why, because we have been there ourselves, and realise that it will go away as long as you can get the help you need, and take any medication that has been prescribed for you.
Antidepressants (AD) don't necessarily cure depression, but what they do is correct the chemical imbalance that your mind is struggling with and taken along side counselling, they both help each other.
Please reach out to us, we want to do everything we can to help you, take your time but it would be great to hear back from you.
Geoff.
