Hi everyone!
Been having a tricky week with my anxiety/depression slowly creeping in. It's my birthday week and I'm struggling to do basic things like clean my apartment or go to the post office etc! but I want to turn it around and so I've come here to ask for your opinion and suggestions - perhaps you have an idea of something I could do to lift my spirits? Eg: like a day out for myself - but I'm feeling like I dont know where to start!
Would really appreciate your any suggestions to help me start to feel better.
I know action creates motivation but I'm struggling to make the first step.
Thank you!

Hi Faithh,
I am sorry you have been having a hard week! It can be hard to keep up with life during these times but that's okay. You will have better times. Happy birthday!
Well, are you able to spend money? You could take yourself out for a spa day - facial, massage, manicure etc., it is worth it - so relaxing and makes you feel better. Also - it could be a nice birthday present to yourself! OR - is there anything you have wanted to do for yourself but haven't? You could do this as well to treat yourself for your birthday week.
If you don't want to spend money, do you have some friends or family you could visit and catch up with for your birthday? Or take yourself for a nice walk outside? Or even if you just clean one section of your apartment per day to "turn it around" as you say.
I hope things improve soon and you have a great birthday week,
Jaz xx

Hi Faithh
Happy birthday for your upcoming special day!
Sorry to hear that you’re struggling, but I think it’s great that you are looking for ideas to help lift your mood and get yourself moving. Good on you.
Spa day sounds lovely. Another treat I like to give myself is to get my nails done and have a pedicure. And it’s the perfect time to pick a nice bright colour and get ready for summer.
Taking time to walk at the beach or through a wooded area is also a go to of mine when I need a boost.
More everyday “treats” might be to call friends, read a book that’s been on your list for awhile, rewatch classic old movies, or experiment with a new recipe. Sometimes I just love flipping through magazines, picking up inspiration for home decorating, fashion or food. You don’t have to spend a fortune to pamper yourself.
Whatever you do I hope you have some fun.
Kind thoughts to you

Hey Faithh, welcome to the forums.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY for next week! Wow look how much you've grown up! lol.
It might be nice to do spa dayS leading up to your actual birthday... perhaps paint your nails the night before?
A home made hair mask 2 days before, maybe trying out a new hair style?
A facial and maybe trying out a new make up style, if you're into that?
All done a few days before... then on your birthday, go OUT.
You can invite someone to have coffee or lunch with you?
If you're not keen on this, then spending some time in your Local Library, borrowing a book or 2 then finding a pretty place to read them. Maybe taking some bread scraps to feed the birds at a lake or beach?
You could even take a wander through a Local Community Garden and pick some AWESOME veg for dinner.
Pouring all the love into yourself because you're worth it!
Have a wonderful day Faithh!
Love EMxxxx

Hello Summer rose,
Thank you so much for your kind words and suggestions!
Fresh nails always seem to lift the mood don't they? 🙂
I love cooking so thank you for reiterating that for me! I will flick through some books and online and see - perhaps I can make myself a birthday cake! 🙂

Hi Em
Thank you so much - I can feel your energy through your message and its really helpful!
Ive organised to go see my family for the weekend and have booked somewhere for breakfast, so that is more interesting than what I had coming up yesterday morning! ha!
Great idea about the local Vegetable garden too - I love gardening so I think I might just do this as well!
Thanks again for all your suggestions 🙂
