Struggling with depression

Hi, I’m having a very bad day today. Awoke feeling down and sad. Can’t enjoy anything and wishing it would just leave me alone. Depression is so exhausting and hard. I’ve increased my meds but it takes a while to take effect. I’m so sick of feeling like this again. I rang Lifeline like I often do and felt a bit better after talking to them. I hope this day improves.

Hi peacock.

I'm sorry to hear this. I hope Lifeline helped you, even if it was just a little bit. I'm here if you need someone to chat although I may be off & on here.

I understand with the meds, I'm still relatively new to them though because I started mine in August 2020 I think, or 2019.

I hope you feel better and your day improves.

Hi mb20lover, thanks for your post. I actually felt a lot better after talking to Lifeline. I managed to get off the bed and make some lunch. I hope you have a good day too.

Hey peacock.

I'm glad Lifeline helped and you were able to eat.

Hey Peacock, Just wanted to tell you that I had a very similar day to you. The morning was ok but the blues hit me in the early afternoon. It was quite bad to be honest. Like you, I also rang lifeline which can be hit and miss. Todays operator was unfortumately a miss and I actually felt worse for calling. Still, am grateful to live in the fist world and have access to such a service. As you may know, when it works it is life saving. Managed to self activate and distract from over thinking with a dumb comedy which helped pass the time. Today I realised again how loveless my life is. The lack of connection and meaning. The lack of purpose. Its almost midnight and is still lingering. I hope we can both sleep it away, have it pass and enjoy tomorrow.
Anyways, my point was that you werent alone today. Thanks for posting about your day. It helped normalise things for me and was a great help.

The new year can really make depression worse. It can make you think about the past and how nothing is going to change this year. I want you to think that this year is going to get better. That the increased meds will work and that you will take better care of yourself. Replace pessimistic thoughts with optimistic ones. I hope you get better and have a better year than past ones

Hey Succulent Queen, I like your username.

I'm sorry that happened. I love you, since you said your life is loveless. I know how you feel. I feel like nobody other than my Parents love me. I don't really have any family. My only friends are online that I haven't met yet, so one in another state over here, & the others in America. And of course friends on here.

I'm sorry I wasn't around earlier. Hello Peacock and AnonymousID also.

You're right AnonymousID, I've been very depresed, like in a very deep depression and nothing seems to work.
