Soooo sad

Ashrose
Community Member

Hi everyone,  I'm new to this forum or to any online help really.  But I've joined as I realised that I am constantly so incredibly sad.  I feel like I am grieving, but no one has died.  I'm so heart broken but I have nothing really to be sad about.

I'm hoping that by joining this online community maybe some of my sadness, grief and loneliness might be eased.

sadness and loneliness work well for us. i learnt to find things that make ME happy , and then sadness lifts, that grief feeling lifts , sounds easy doesn't it, well it's not , and it doesn't happen overnight . work on your happy things, you know what they are . it could be some yummy chocolate cake , with cream. uuuummm.

I just joined too, and I get that sadness...even if there is nothing bad happening, it's like a weight of grief just pulling you down? Let's hope we both find what we need, huh?

dear Ashrose, welcome to this site, there are plenty of different people here all with different points of view, and someone will click with you.

Depression doesn't only occur simply by someone passing away, nor by another event going wrong, or though these could be the reason, however, what it does to you, me and all the people is bring despair, misery, feeling of being negative, destroys relationships and affects our desire to not want to work or study.

It can come on for no reason at all, happy yesterday, but next day we are depressed, and we don't know why, and no circumstances can explain it.

I hope that you can get back to us and explain just a little more, to see if we can help you, but more so to make you feel comfortable. Take care. Geoff.

That's right I look at my life and think "why can't I just be happy?"  But there is only heavy sadness.

Absolutely hope both of us find what we need 🙂

Thanks to you all for replying.  To explain a little further:  I have had some trauma and difficulties and over the years have sought help for this.  Now I actually feel that my life should be the best it ever was.  I am happy where I'm at with my life and there's not a whole lot I'd change to improve it.

Yet I usually am wracked with grief, so terribly sad.  My throat gets so tight and sore that I feel I can't breath properly and my chest hurts so bad as if my heart is physically broken.  I shake uncontrollably. And even just the effort to speak is too much.

I feel absolutely devastated and just sooo want to be happy.  I have a lovely husband and family and want to be free from this sorrow so I can enjoy them all the more.

I am desperate for support and appreciate any help, advice, support any one can offer.

dear Ashmore, sometimes when we experience trauma ourselves and this can include difficulties of any sort, we may think that it may happen to our kids, and this then scares us to the point that it affects us causing depression. May be off the mark here. L Geoff. x
