six months of non-stop emotional pain

I have been in severe emotional pain for over six months with no breaks.
Because of this my marriage, family, friendships, career - everything is threatened.
I am seeing a therapist, but it is like holding an umbrella up to a tidal wave.
Before this started, I was happier than ever.
I know the reason for my situation, but it is something I must accept - it cannot be changed.
Looking for support here.
Thanks,
- Rez

Hi Rez,
Seeking help from a therapist is a good start.
Have they suggested that you take any medication at the moment, even short time to help you through this period of struggle?
Do you use the phone help lines when you are really struggling? Chatting with someone can certainly help.
Do you have hobbies or interests you can try to become involved in to change your thoughts and divert yourself onto something more pleasant?
Do you have a close friend you can share with?
Life may never be the same as it was before this event/happening/situation took place, but you can make your life into what you want it to be from now on.
You can not erase or change what ever occurred, but you can start today to rebuild your life and move ahead.
I hope some of this has helped you. Please get back again and let me and others know how you are getting on.
From Mrs. Dools

You will make it through, what I had is an excellent doctor that I could go and see at any time during the day. I know people say they don't want medication, but this saved my life. Do this for yourself. This made me feel safe knowing g this. I'm 46 now, this was 3years ago,I still have good and bad days but more good. I've had depression for 28years, And I don't wish this on anyone. My dad would say to me,people know what sort of day they are going to have as soon as they open their eyes in the morning. And this is true.
You will come through it, Xxxx
